예능계, '엄친아'보다 '어리남'이 대세!
[티브이데일리=이은성 기자] 완벽한 남성의 시대는 갔다. 완벽할것 같은 모습 이면에 어리숙함이 엿보이는 남자가 시선을 끌며 인기를 더해가고 있다.
TV를 틀면 잘생긴 연예인은 넘쳐난다. 하지만 유독 시선이가는 이들이 있으니, 바로 여성의 보호본능을 자극하는 일명 ‘어리남’이다. ‘어리남’이란 ‘어리숙한 남자’의 줄임말 정도로 볼 수 있다.
현 재 대표적인 ‘어리남’으로는 노래와 예능, 연기 세마리 토끼를 잡은 황태자 이승기를 들 수 있다. 드라마에서는 완벽한 왕자님으로, 예능에서는 ‘허당’으로 통하는 이승기에게는 완벽과 어리숙함이 공존한다. 2004년 데뷔당시부터 전교학생회장의 타이틀과 함께 ‘누난 내 여자니까’를 외치며 누나들의 완벽한 이상형으로 자리 매김 해 온 이승기. 그는 항상 반듯한 이미지를 보여주며 많은 사랑을 받아왔다.
모범생의 이미지로 정형화되면서 인기가 한풀 꺾이는 듯하였으나, KBS 예능 ‘1박 2일’에서 의외의 허당스러운 모습을 보여주며 그는 다시 상향곡선을 그렸다. 급기야 SBS 드라마 ‘찬란한 유산’의 시청률을 40% 대 까지 끌어 올리는데 한몫 했다.
두 번째로는 '젝스키스'의 리더 은지원이 있다. ‘젝스키스’로 활동 당시 그는 잘생긴 외모, 카리스마 있는 무대로 여성 팬들의 관심을 한 몸에 받는 잘나가는 아이 돌이였다. 하지만 ‘젝스키스’가 해체되고 댄스가수가 아닌 힙합가수로 전향한 은지원은 기존 팬들의 소소한 사랑을 받았을 뿐, 대중들의 큰 관심을 끌지 못했다.
이승기와 마찬가지로 그 역시 ‘1박 2일’로 인해 제 2의 전성기를 누리는 연예인중 하나다. ‘은초딩’이라는 별명을 얻으며 초등학생이 보기에도 유치하고 어딘가 부족해보이는 모습으로 대중들에게 큰 웃음을 선사하며 주가 상승중이다.
이 처럼 ‘완벽남’이 아닌 ‘어리남’이 뜨는 이유는 연예인이란 존재가 더 이상 동경의 대상이나 신비스러운 존재이길 바라는 대중이 줄어든 것이다. ‘어리남’을 제하더라도 완벽하게 포장돼 현실에는 존재하지 않던 ‘아이돌’의 모습이 예능감각은 기본으로 가지고 있어야 하는 다소 코믹스러운 모습으로 변한 것을 보아도 알 수 있다.
이 외에도 국내 ‘어리남’은 멤버 전원이 '품절남‘이 되어버린 MBC ’무한도전‘ 멤버들과 '패밀리가 떴다'에서 김계모 김수로의 구박을 도맡아 받던 이천희 등이 있다.
