Hey guys. My first time posting.. been a silent reader for a year now. I so wanted my first post to be meaningful. (Kidding!) I'm a fan of 1N2d and our beloved Cho Ding.

I've been wondering about this for quite some time now.. Googled it and even back tracked previous posts in this thread and 1N2D's. Did/Is/Will Eun Ji Won ever serve in the military? I've really put some thought into this.. since he's already what, 31? 32? Really. ^^

btw he is turning 30yrs old this year i think? well hes 29 right now but i think hes excused from the army because he fullfills some kind of criteria for not being eligible for service---i think it might have something to do with his body....but not totally sure, i'll go look it up

so im not SURE what 제 2 국민역 즉 군입대를 면제 means...but from what im reading it sounds like the reason for him not being eligible is because he did not fulfill the education requirement because he went to hs in hawaii....but didnt graduate because he came to korea midway and became a singer...then when he tried to get a diploma/ged in korea he wasnt able to....im guessing he's considered a drop-out? but i feel that im missing some information since i cant understand certain portions of the article....

you have no idea jan, i'm like obssessed with Adios. i'm actually amazed at how i'm still not sick of the song yet when i literally listen to the song every single day. i even have some of those vids on my phone and i watch them everyday (before i go to sleep lol). crazy huh? hehe.

A lot of Koreans question EJW and MC Mong regarding military obligation exemption. With some googling on Korean web, I figured out EJW is known to be exempted with 'lack of education' and/or 'mental disorder'. Probably 'lack of education' will be official reason, I guess. As widely known, he has some big politicians as relatives though it's not confirmed this is related or not for the matter. MC Mong's reason is not known so far, so Korean netizens sees it 'mystery'.

However, as I found out today, if EJW wanted to, he could join the army because he had paased 'official qualification examination' for Korean university/college. EJW (and MC Mong) is still on the watch list of 'questionable celebrities' regarding exemption. So don't get too surprised, when their photos with short hair in front of boot camp surface someday in the future.

Anyway, probably it would be hard for both to become real superstars loved by the whole nation with nickname starts with 'nation-' prefix.

KHD is exempted because his weight exceeded the standard then and this is acceptable. I don't know about LSGeun and KimC, because I believe they finished their obligation. I hope LSGi join the army as normal in the future and live up to his good reputation as a good & sound boy.

I guess since i'm not Korean, i'm actually happy he's not serving in the military. But uh oh at the part "...don't get too surprised, when their photos with short hair in front of boot camp surface someday in the future." so there is still chance that he'd serve? is there no age limit at that coz he's already 31/32. i'm assuming that he has no plans to serve at this time of his life considering he just had GYM Ent.

Sorry, I cut some of your post. But yeah, I'm with you Jan on that. Something new (I've learned everything about him from you guys - so thanks! Nevertheless..) like - being a grease monkey. Repairing cars (to that of a mechanic level!) and being able to tap dance! Hahaha. Though I found it new that he was a good swimmer. I only saw the GIF of that. Anyone has the vid with him racing with the dolphin?

And I really do wish he looked this good during 1N2D, relaxed but still cool-looking. Not unlike, as G have put it, the pambahay look. Ugh. Haay. Anway, still love him. I transitioned from Kim Jung Hoon to Yunho to 1N2D to DBSK (as a group) to Xman regulars to 1N2D to Lee Seunggi to Shinhwa to WGM to 2pm to 1N2D and finally settling in with Jiwon. I don't know why, but I can't look at another artist again after him! (I sound like a love-sick youth!) I mean, who else can act like that but still be the same person. As you can see, 1N2D has really gotten hold of me and never let me go!!

I think it was G who posted the GIFs about; "How can this.. this.. and this be just one person" (Or sth like that). Because that pretty much sums up how I feel!

Oh re: his teeth. Just protruded? He mentioned it as his body complex? WHEN!?! Do share! The reason is I actually find guys who have a bit of sungki HOT. Same as before Yunho got his crooked teeth fixed with porcelain veneers. (I have sungki on my lower teeth as well, and I'm proud of it! - I actually didn't get a job because of it!)

XMAN #25 Episode 59, Christmas Special

Just random blah, blah, blah.

Anyways, I just want to share something. I've actually seen this vid numerous times already since last year in megavideo, but at that time I was only focused in Lee Seunggi and Kim Jung Hoon, it was not until recently that I realized that it was Jiwon that KJH was battling in Dangyunhaji. As a fangirl, I've always been superficial with whom I like, kinda lame but that's how I was. Plus, don't blame me, he looked *weird* back then. Post-sechskies, pre-rap popularity. He never caught my attention and it didn't help that he only got a minimal amount of screen time, since there were a lot of guests more interesting than him in that epi. (But Yoo Jae Suk did talk about a certain movie, Marrying a High School Girl perhaps?? Cause this was circa 2003). But one thing I DID notice was that he was very "uncomfortable", you might say, with his self. For me, it was like watching a different Eun Jiwon so detached from who he is now as a variety show regular. No funny comments (except the one with returning his guest appearance fee), no witty remarks, no impulsive reactions. I was even disappointed to how he fired back at dangyunhaji, I'm not used to him being so.. dull.
I can fully sense that during that time, he so wanted to crack a joke, butt in say his piece and then laugh about it whole-heartedly. However, he didn't. You can feel his awkwardness in transitioning from mainstream pop to simple-chill-hip-hop.

One can clearly see the difference from then and now. Change was indeed inevitable for him. Sometimes, change is a bad thing but in his case, it might be the best thing that ever happened. I'm not saying that I only crush his "chummy-funny-choding" personality since I'm talking about his variety show performance. No, it's about his evident transformation as a whole.

I guess, what I'm trying to point out here is that, I've come full circle with my appreciation for Eun Jiwon with my recent discovery from re-watching the clip. From not knowing who he is - disregarding him then for his appeareance, overlooking him for his uninteresting personality and fastforwarding his screen time for a more charismatic eye-candy - to wanting to know anything and everything about him - gushing about his new hair style, observing his every move and admiring his persona as a whole.

Now, I've begun to understand who he is. He has indeed come a long way from those days and so have I. I've come to realize that there IS such a person so dynamic and diverse yet still manages to be faithful to his real character.

The vindicated performer, the lovable choding, the reliable artist, the ambitious CEO that is Eun Jiwon.

*sigh*

He is all of that and more.

From Princess Hours and With Yoo Hee. I guess we tend to like the same people! He's very unique as well, right? He also has a high IQ! (140, I think)
