i got a c in trigonometry and i want to make it up. but when i spoke with my counselor, she told me that it wouldn't matter because the uc schools would only average the make-ups if you get a D or an F. is this true?

Sorry, I have no idea about that.. but it's fine, don't make up for it ulness you REALLYYY want to. I believe a C- or above is a passing grade? I think. Anyway, my friend got a C in Chemistry in 10th grade and still got into UCSD by getting straight A's junior year. So just compensate for that grade and you'll be fine

grades aren't all that matters. I got a B-/C for the first and second semester (respectively) of US History Junior year, and that's the year they look at the most. If you feel that you really aren't what that "C" represents, you can explain it in your application essays. That's what I did and I'm happily skipping along Bruin Walk at UCLA.
