The next Sidekick was approved by the FCC yesterday. Although a number of documents and pictures are still confidential, there are clear pictures of the front and back in the filing with T-Mobile branding present. The new body has a smooth face that uses resistive buttons hidden below the surface of the phone and trades out the scroll wheel for what appears to be the scroll nub from Apple's Mighty Mouse. The back shows a 1.3 Megapixel camera with flash, memory card slot and removable battery. In addition to these physical improvements the Sidekick 3 will have tri-band GSM (850/1800/1900) as well as Bluetooth.

A supposed roadmap leaked last fall showed UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) or dual-mode edition of the Sidekick 3 coming this fall. If true, that version would automatically detect the fastest and most cost-effective network available, cellular or Wi-Fi (it would add this feature, of course), at home or on the road. When a user with a UMA-enabled handset enters a WLAN, for example, the phone switches his call from cellular to Wi-Fi.

and my guess of sidekick III dropping is probably june, or sometime in fall. why do i think this? because my friend tried to buy a sidekick directly from tmobile and tmobile was halting it. and tmobile did this the last time sidekick II was coming out so BE PREPARED.... WIFI IS COMING!!! this is gonna be one toy that im gonna love using

when i first got one i mainly used it for email and aim so i can talk to my friends to know where they are. now sidekicks are a fashion statement and if you dont have one your not cool lol. but the qwerty keybaord is one of the best qwerty keyboards out there. such an ease to type on.

did you know that sidekicks are made from sharp? i found that out recently and i thought it was interesting...haha. anyway yay for sidekicks? it doesn't look nearly as great as i was anticipating but still better than the ones out there now... but i like mda better.

its coming out summer. Tmobile employees told me themselves because i wanted to cancel my tmobile sidekick plan but they were like "stay on and you can upgrade for a cheaper price!! it comes out this summer..."

NO ONE realizes that sharp manufactures sidekicks!! even the people who own them, if u ask them, they wouldn't know how to answer or maybe they'd look at you funny and say...t-mobile?
