I recently got that spyware...XP Anti Virus...
LITERALLY just 20 minutes ago.
However I went on my laptop and came to this topic and soompi.
I read about system restore so I did it, thankfully my last restore point was today at 1AM...I restored it and viola! everything back to normal, no more annoying XP Anti Virus pop ups, slugginess/slowness, and I deleted its shortcut.
Now I'm installing some of those free spyware removers/preventers listed on the first page to prevent this from happening again!

Just get this http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-...4-10804572.html and it should take care of it.

how am I suppose to do to kill the trojan? my colleague suggested me to get AVG latest antivirus (30 days trial) she said that the antivirus can kill the trojan...and I dont want just to delete...I want it gone.....
and I dont want to reformat my laptop...honestly I dont like to reinstall everything that I already have...including CB ><

As far as I know, no. Thats why a lot of mac users always gloat at windows users for not needing antivirus or spyware. They simply don't bother making junk for apple which is still a small fraction of the market. It is not to say you're invincible, there are plenty of exploits and viruses for apples but you should be fine.

Okay... its possible that whatever you have corrupted your system restore point. You should try malwarebytes http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-...4-10804572.html and see if it takes care of anything. I thought zone alarm was a firewall and not a anti-malware/antivirus

I hope you figured it out by now
If you did use AVG... or even a trial of NOD32 you can let it scan and delete everything thats infected and should help... but normally that vundo is a spyware and adaware, malwarebytes, spybot search and destroy, and superantispyware work better at removing those problems than say a normal antivirus.

edit: 'kay so I scanned the comp using adaware and removed the stuff it found..and then I restarted the computer. But the spyware guard is still there and when I try to open adaware again it says it's encountered a problem and needs to close..
nvm fixed. ^^;

err same thing happened to me. i just got the trojan vundo whatever. except i already have malwarebytes and it was detected right away & quarantined.
question is, what do i do with it now? do i delete it from quarantine, leave it, or what?
im actually super careful, this is the first time ive ever had a virus. ever. some stupid popup or something gave it to me. so i dont even know what to do.
i also have AVG and it detected win32 or whatever, also in the virus vault now but yeah don't know what to do.
is my computer "safe" now that they're quarantined/in the vault?

i'm not sure if my problem is a sypware/virus/malware,
but the problem is, today, while surfing on firefox and saving things as usual,
firefox started popping a few things here and there..
i do have pop-up blockers, avast! (which i LOVE), and i am using firefox,
so it was strange to me that this has never happened before until today..
also, while i opened adobe PS, IE had some pop-ups popping up too and i didn't even open IE..
and then my firewall was turned off when i didn't turn it off..
then my "Automatic Update" got turned off too...
and usually when things get weird with the computer, i check how many GB i have and weird, cos
before i turned if off earlier, it was low, and now it got higher...
(err, that seems like bad news already..)
anyhow i'm fully scanning my computer with avast!
and spybot search and destroy,
though avast!, whether its a full or quick scan, still takes awhile,
so i was wondering if there's anything that i can use or do to help fix this problem?
thanks!

i would uninstall the one that doesn't work for you. if there are two antivirus programs running at once, it can cause your pc to lockup.
i've never dled adaware, but i have used S&D and neither of them work as well super antispyware.
