This is only good when you want to take one or two screenshots but if you want to take multiples screenshots while a video is playing you'll need a program such as screenshot utility (http://www.screenshot-utility.com/).
When taking screencaps of videos keep in mind they might come out black/blank where the video is suppose to be. You can fix this by going to "tools>options" in windows media player and decreasing the "video acceleration".

If you have problems the options page should look like this.

Weirdo who like Media Player 10

Go to options.

Drag the bar to Software acceleration. (NOTE I HATE this method. Most of the time people saying their video is laggy is because they did this)

Paste it into paint
VideoLan

Remeber to click save...

Pause and click or just click it.

See? it works.
>:o you want MORE caps?!
Virtual Dub

There you have it 156 screenshots.

This is the program I use to make screenshots for all my videos that I encode & upload. It is highly recommended, very easy to use. But be warned, it works for alot of video formats EXCEPT for mpg files. For mpg files you have to let the video play in the program and then individually click on "snapshot" to capture individual frames which is a pain. For all other files like divx, xvid, asf or wmv... the program will automatically grab the frames for you at a regular interval without you having to play the video! I was afraid the picture might not fit on your screens so I did it as 4 columns but I normally have mine set at 5 columns to fit a screen resolution of 1280x1024. I love this program because it's so simple, so fast to capture good samples throughout a video and it has that professional look to it.

Edit: oh yeah, even the size of each individual snapshot can be changed to. I set mine on 200x150 and 5 columns so it displays nicely on a screen resolution of 1280x1024.

It plays every single file type out there and it handles the files very well. And it can cap every single type of file you play.
The caps themselves are easy to take (Ctrl + E) and easy to manage.
I used to use BSplayer to do caps before I found out about Gom. BSplayer is handy, but everytime you take a cap, the video gives a slight pause--not very comfortable for viewing. The same problem does not exist with Gom player.
Gom also has a better interface and better options than BSplayer.
If you have any questions concerning Gom, feel free to PM me~

Click the C> Then there's about several options to choose to take caps.
Hope that helped.
