umm. when I take my laptop out, the few times that I do, to go to the kitchen with it or something, I leave the power thing plugged in.... Is that bad for the power thing? cuz the electricity is still flowing into it right, will it like blow up? o__o" because I forget to unplug it from the outlet, I only disconnect it from my laptop.

If you're really wondering how he (Tetra) looks...click; although I highly advise that you don't-- for your sake.

happy.gif you worry too much.
When you turn off your laptop, the power state is still the same... as in when its off, power doesn't go anywhere either. So it really doesn't matter. happy.gif

Think... the outlets... think a battery...
All those things are okay when you don't have anything connected to it right?

The power just won't flow thats all. And for most notebooks, the power brick is known as a switching power supply. It goes into a low power mode when its disconnected and a high power mode when its connected.

yep, it's fine to leave it plugged in - it's not like the electricity is building up inside it or anything...

odd thing is, my adapter remains warm even when there's nothing attached to it for quite a while. maybe some power is still being transformed or something - i have no idea why.

Yeah, most AC adapters are a waste of power. Most AC adapters... like for my speakers stay warm all the time and thats just because they continue to use power even when power isn't being used.
You know, transformers are based on the concept of inductors, a magnetic field wound another coil so that the field will go to the other. The problem is primary coil stays powered and completes the circuit... wasting power...

Visual aide. Power goes in as one magnetic coil, and transfters the magnetic field to the other coil.
