lol i wasn't going to try on the test and fill in random patterns, but then i realized that i'd be helping my school if i got a good score, so i think i'll actually try. xP
and i don't think you can really study for these things. it's pretty much... cumulative knowledge. you can try those mcgraw hill/kaplan books or whatever.. if they even make it for high schoolers. i knew they covered up to 8th grade, though.

our school is pretty bad. we're pretty close to being controlled by the state, which means no extra-cricculars and all academics =(

However, it is important to note that what you get affects the school overall. A school with a higher ranked API usually gets more funding and more attention... etc. That is why teachers make a big fuss about eating a healthy breakfast and doing the best on the test. (They want more funding!)

i think star testing isn't all that bad. i personally think it's better than being in class... just fill out the test and then sleep for the rest of the ridiculously large and unnecessary amount of time given to you. plus it's nice when you're a senior because then you don't have to take it and you can rub that at all the underclassmen to piss them off xD

As someone said, this does affect your school overall (as in, if your entire school gets low test scores, your school will not be considered particularly reputable, which is what DOES count), so do avoid bubbling in happy faces and just going to sleep...just finish the darn test. You probably don't need to study. The standards aren't that high.
YESSS I get to come to school at 10/11 this year during STAR testing.
