How many of you guys are majoring in business? My uncle tells me if I do plan on majoring in business, I'm going to have a sh-t load of competition because EVERYONE nowadays is majoring in business.

That sounds about right.....but it also depends on what field of business your going into.
I know alot of people these days are basically majoring in accounting or marketing.

i'm an econ major...does that count? business majors aren't offered at my school...but i don't plan to go to business school (partially because EVERY asia guy and about half of the asian girls want to go there...)


yea too much competition...but that's where the money's at right now...until the crap load of people graduate (laws of economics tells us that the "money" in the field will decrease)

i'm doing international business and management at stern - nyu.. and the competition SUCKS. but it's going to be there all the time.. i think it does depend on where you're at and what major you're in.. at stern.. finance is the most competitive one, i think.. but overall, students are competitive about internships, networking, etc.. it's brutal but inevitably, it has to be there -.-

Theres competition everywhere. Business is one of the majors that never will have that much competition. Business is all about the art of making money. Theres fields like Journalism that TRULY have competition - but not business. There are so many opportunities that it won't suddenly be like theres only one spot for a good job or something.

^ That competition is not really the real world competition. I would say its just competition in Stern. But really, once you're in Stern, you have so many doors open for you its amazing.

However, nearly every major is competitive.
In addition, there are more competitive majors.

maybe business might not seem competitive compared to something like premed, but i'd say it's pretty competitive since it's a big/popular major.
