So say you get a B in the class and dont pass the exam
does it still make out as a 4 instead of a 3 ?
And i'm not asking about whether you RECEIVE college credit for each of the classes, cause i know you don't if you don't pass the AP test, i'm asking for the UC's, whether you still receive the GPA boost on your UC gpa thing...

^yeah. also many people don't even take the ap test. i think it's weighted no matter what and what u get is what u get. (grade-wise)
wait a minute. ------- i thought that if you don't take the ap exam of your ap class. then you DON'T get the ap boost?!?!
SHOOT. then i should NOT have taken the spanish ap. i have like an A- in the class but im banking on a 2 ON THE AP!!!!!. this is ridiculous. our school is definitely not a strong language school. UGH.

You should. UCs never said that if you don't pass the corresponding AP test, the extra point added for the GPA is taken away.
welll *update*
i called UCSD yestereday and the admissions lady said you dont have to pass the ap examination in order to get the extra gpa point

What the AP test does is give the colleges an idea of how well you would do in their school. If you get a three or higher, the better the chances will be of getting in the college of your choice. And if you get a 2 on your AP exam, colleges will still take notice of it, but some will just be like, "Meh... Whatever."

O_____O. doom.

AP classes aren't weighted anymore since it's overflating everyone's grades. The UC's look at your unweighted gpa... duh!
My friend is taking 5 AP's his senior year.
Out of 6 classes, all A's, would be 4.8. See what I mean?

^ ahaha dude. im effing screwed then. good bye dream college. hellooooo PCC! lol not that im raggin' on any pcc-goers out there. in FACT their transfer rate to ucla is ridiculously high. =]
dude dont worry, colleges look your grade in teh AP class more seriously than they do at your AP test score. according to uc berekely and ucla admissions officers they talked to, while the ap class grade tells them how you would perform in a 'college level course', the ap test dpends too much on testing conditions and whatnot. that means theyd rather see the A,2 or 3 than C, 4 or 5
