i just wanted to know if you're taking an AP course, and don't pass the exam, do you still get the GPA credit ( for like, UC's )

So say you get a B in the class and dont pass the exam
does it still make out as a 4 instead of a 3 ?
And i'm not asking about whether you RECEIVE college credit for each of the classes, cause i know you don't if you don't pass the AP test, i'm asking for the UC's, whether you still receive the GPA boost on your UC gpa thing...

You should. UCs never said that if you don't pass the corresponding AP test, the extra point added for the GPA is taken away.

AP classes and the AP exam are "totally" different. Notice how I put the totally in quotation marks. Your results on the final exam should have absolutely no effect on your GPA because you're taking the test for your future/college, your teachers are not the ones grading the test. If you get a B in the class, it will count as an A on your GPA. If you get an A, it will count as a 5.0.

What the AP test does is give the colleges an idea of how well you would do in their school. If you get a three or higher, the better the chances will be of getting in the college of your choice. And if you get a 2 on your AP exam, colleges will still take notice of it, but some will just be like, "Meh... Whatever."

^ PCC's campus is pretty nice. I drove there once when I was bored. I love carne asada. I made some in culinary arts class on Cinco de Mayo.

AP classes aren't weighted anymore since it's overflating everyone's grades. The UC's look at your unweighted gpa... duh!
My friend is taking 5 AP's his senior year.
Out of 6 classes, all A's, would be 4.8. See what I mean?

dude dont worry, colleges look your grade in teh AP class more seriously than they do at your AP test score. according to uc berekely and ucla admissions officers they talked to, while the ap class grade tells them how you would perform in a 'college level course', the ap test dpends too much on testing conditions and whatnot. that means theyd rather see the A,2 or 3 than C, 4 or 5
