What should I do? Honors Pre-cal problem...

Right now, I have a 40% in the class >.< We only took one test so far which I got a 36/100
Lowest test score in the class and in my history. There's 2 tests left and 1 final, if i do well on the final, my teacher will drop the lowest test score and replace it with what I got on the final. I'm not even suppose to be in Honors since this class is for people that took honors alg. II the previous year and I never took it which left me in difficulty of understanding trig for the first time. I'm struggling with trig like hell, I dont understand the word problems or anything. And our class is FAST PACE since our school schedule goes by blocks, which we only have 9 weeks of class per block and it alternates with different classes. Ugh, I'm thinking...my gpa is around 3.77-3.8 (around there) and if this F goes on my report card, I'll be doomed. Should I drop the class? And if I do...would this grade transfer to my other class? Or should I keep struggling and hope for a C or B. I'm studying but these stuff are hard to understand

I don't think you can even drop your class. It's pretty late in the year... I'm not too sure. BUT! I think that you should study like crazy. If you need help, get a friend or a tutor to help you.

why are you asking us? go talk to your school counselor they're so helpful with difficult situations like these... anyway i hope something can be done. maybe you could use that "no prerequisite" thing as an excuse to be able to drop it without getting an F and then make it up in the summer. good luck

wow, i guess i was able to look from a different perspective. i'm in analysis right now (adv. precal/ honor precal.. same thing) and my class, imo, is going wayyy too slow. only two people have A's in them. I just never understood why the people who didn't take adv trig or something decide to take adv precal and slow the class down. the only reason i know is that taking honors will look good on their transcript. no offense, i'm just curious.. is that also your reason?
and also, since it's your first test.. don't be so disappointed. compare it to your other classmates and ask your teacher. if it's normal to fail the first test, i think u'll be fine. do you think you can understand it later?? since you are struggling with trig, do you think you can catch up? personal tutor could work. i'd never had one though.. so can't help you there. ask your teacher for guidance, maybe? they usually know your strength if they're good.

wow 3.77-8?!!?!?! that's a freaking HIGH GPA!!!!!! (i'm assuming this is unweighted?) wow. so jealous. =]
yea listen to huggie =] -- GET A PRIVATE TUTOR STAT.
at this late in the game. you really need help fast for a big boost in your understanding. studying by yourself is good for maybe first quarter...but dude. you have 2 tests. make the best of it. do ANYTHING you can (minus cheat hehhe) to bring up your grade. it seems that even if you are studying by yourself the results are still kinda low (no?) so you really need OUTSIDE help. TUTOR TUTOR!
g'luck <=)

It's pretty late in the year, so I doubt you will be able to drop the class. I'm in the same math class right now, but I took honors algebra 2/trig last year and pre-calc is still kind of hard for me. I'm barely getting a B right now >.<
But my friend is in the same position as you. She took regular algebra 2/trig last year, but is in honors pre-calc with me this year and she's struggling a lot, but she's always able to barely pull off a C by the end of each quarter.
Since it's seems too late to drop, your only choice would be to stick it out and hope for at least a C. Maybe you should get some tutoring? Or talk to your teacher for some help? Or maybe try learning some basic with an honors algebra 2 / trig book to help you with pre-calc concepts, since pre-calc is basically algebra2/trig review.

Wow, I don't get it. I know more than 10 people that dropped from Pre-Cal. The course isn't even that hard.
I struggled a little bit too, but I managed to get a C for my first semester. But right now it's getting better and I have a solid B, but still looking to improve.
Seeing as how it's pretty late in the year, you're screwed. The best option is to talk to the admissions office of whatever school you're going to to tell them your situation, so that they don't deny you from their school, that is if you're a senior and going to college soon.

^ that's what i'm thinking too. if you struggled to get a c doesn't that mean it was hard for you?
