Just want some basic info on the test and how it went for those of you who have taken it! Our teacher hasn't really prepared us very well for it..plus it's only a semester course so I've only been in class since Feb. and Ive missed a week or so too for a conference. Just would like some extra advice or anything you know to prepare! It's on TUES too haha sweatingbullets.gif

Thanks Guys biggrin.gif

haha i took it last year and barely passed w/ a 3.
the multiple choice are juss hard;
my teacher actually prepared us well for the exam..but yea questions are bizarre.
the free response isnt too bad if you read over the materials on gov't systems and some important issues (like the basque region in France, etc)
cant really say anythin specific cuz first of all I dont remember and the test might be different this year. xP
haha newayz good luck!

I'm taking the US Gov. & Politics test tomorrow. crap crap crap. I think I might be okay on multiple choice. BUT FREE RESPONSE!! ahh in my McGraw-Hill 5 Steps to a 5 book, the sample free response questions are SO HARD. My teacher didn't prepare us well for that portion because in class when we practiced it, it was open-note -___-

only good thing about this whole situation is that I have AP Gov. 2nd semester so a lot of the material is fresh in my brain.
by the way, I don't know WHY I'm taking this AP test. It doesn't benefit me much (if at all) in college, does it? It counts as "elective credit" if I pass. but what good does that do, really?

hrm in my book it says that the composite score is 120, and:
mid-80s - 120 = 5
70s - mid-70s = 4
high 40s - 70s = 3
high 20s - high 40s = 2
0 - high 20s = 1
...which doesn't seem too bad. but who knows =_=

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!

uh Free Response isnt about length... if it says identify... u just name it... no need to fill it with fluff... its not ap government and politics with composition...

the whole test was pretty chill~ i kno i passed for sure since my teacher is awesome and we were prepared so well..

3c is the only essay thing that worried me... and i messed up on part of #4.

Did you guys really think it was hard? I thought the MC and FR was really easy. Hmm.. but maybe that's because my teacher is really hard. His regular tests are like ten times harder!

The test wasn't actually that bad...All of our AP GOV class tests are just old AP tests which questions picked out that relate specifically to each chapter that we've been studying...

One of the gov teachers at our school grades the freeresponse questions for College Board. We were told that it's fine if your answers are just bulleted when they ask you to identify.

The only problem I had was that I got a bloody nose 2 problems into the MC section. I had one the night before, the morning of, and the way back to school from the AP test site. -___-

I took it a few days ago. It wasn't as bad as I thought, although I was still like blink.gif for the MCs cuz I didn't study whatsoever. The essays weren't that bad either, although I have neither BSed so much in my life hahaha.
