I read in my other thread " months of hard labor " to get your first car. For me, it takes me a year to make only $4800 and that's WITHOUT my excessive spending on clothes & such.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO BOUGHT YOUR OWN CAR.

saved $ in HS, then worked 55 hours/week at 8.50 under table. xP I'm out of work now though, quit after almost 3 years.
Oh damn... that means you get no tax deductions and whatnot.
I work 40 hr/week at $7/hr. About 800-900 a month.

Oh yeah, substitute taxes in & I make less than $4800.
Is this 4800 per year? Or month?

a lot of it goes to my car, insurance, gas (cringe), and other bills. about 13% of the earnings goes to my hobby(ies) and neccessities 5% for things i want
only a bed and room to sleep in is provided by my parent's ^^;;
i personally think it's easier to pay off your own car when you get it at 18+ lots of places pay you more if you were 18+ compared to if you're younger

Did nothing but eat cup o noodles and stayed home on the weekends.
saved every single paycheck and bought a used car for 5,500
I'm thinking about selling my car and buying a SUV. But with the way gas prices are and my part time employment is concerned, I don't think I can afford to drive.
