life started with a car... but now, life without a car

don't get me wrong: i am breathing, i am animated, i am eating and farting like a healthy human should... but, without a ride i can't do anything. i can't even grocery shop! i can only purchase limited quantities to shove down my backpack and cycle back home. HAHA.
i am a type of an enthusiast that breathes automotives. basically, 75% of my lifestyle activities involved automotives... so i've always pondered the fact what would happen if my ride was gone. well, i finally got to taste of a 'loss'.
it's been about 6 weeks since the g has gone under the knife... i wonder wtf is taking so damn long? they keep giving me the run around, but hey... that's business to them.
so... the first thing i will do when i get my car back? get a damn haircut... the fur grew too long.
neener neener... can't catch me~!

That sucks panda... my shop was lagging on my civic too... gave me the runaround for nearly 2 1/2 months. Did you pay the shop in full up front? If you did, maybe they are taking their sweet time?

I feel the same way. I dont know if I can stand even 6 weeks. I dont know what your doing to your g35, but I would have done it myself...being apart that long is not good.
not many people can do that kind of work themselves or even have the tools to do so (Engine building)

i don't like leeching others for rides, for that's one concept i truly hate. if we carpool with my car, i expect my friends to carpool using their cars in return... it's only considerate to do so.
i take the bus to go to the bank and such, which takes around an hour and a half to get to (yikes!) but 10 minutes in the g35 (yeeeea baby). i'll grocery shop on my bicycle. ^^
oh and jason... i didn't pay them up front. i will pay them once everything is done. i am wondering if i should add in the UTec from Turbo XS or utilize the piggy already provided by APS.
i will call them tomorrow and raise havoc if i must!

i am currently going with a built block with overbore with torque plate wiseco pistons 8.5 compression ratio, GTM specced billet rods, block massaging, port fingering.. i don't know what the hell is going on, but i am sure i can't do all that myself. mind you, took me 2 weeks to install the turbo kit and full fuel system return.

is that a full stand alone unit? for some reason, i want to go with a piggyback/pseudo-stand alone... it's easier on my wallet and not to mention a bit more stealth in terms of obd2 diagnosis. damn, i am such a plant hugger i don't even buy test pipes.

Yea, the AEM is a full stand alone. Its pretty fun and has alot of cool features.
If you are worried about smog... you have a 2003 G35 right? that means you dont have to worry about smog checks till 2009. (New smog rule in CA)

Haha, this is not abnormal at all. I think if anything you have a lot of passion in is gone... it gets tough. It's like that quote "You don't know what oyu have until it gone" but luckly inyour case it's not completely gone, only for a short time.
tell me about it...
but it's ok... i still have the fire to rekindle. oh baby.

that's right. i heard about it. the shop doesn't have an AEM EMS, so i opted to go with the UTec. it already has great features like a built in boost controller and wideband feature, so all is good. not to mention, the shop owner is throwing in dyno tune for free because of the lag.
I lost my car for a week when they were doing my swap... it sucked... I cried in a corner every night. And I had to bum rides off everyone. Had to get a ride to school, to work, to work, home, and a lot of other places lol.
yeah man.. i can relate. a friend wants to go to a bar with me. i tell him, only if you drive... but don't worry... i'll drive back. i am such a considerate bastard.
well i talked to the owner last night. i was pretty pissed off and he got the message. right now, the engine has been assembled and shall be dropped into the engine bay within the few days. also, he states the car SHOULD BE tuned by saturday for pick up. i'm taking it for what it's worth... because like all laggers, they all say the same thing over and over *AOL: goodbye*

i went to the shop just to stir some crap up. i wanted to SEE FOR MYSELF if the shop owner was just giving me the run-around, or actually telling me the truth. fortunately, i wasn't disappointed...
the block was being built when i got there:

mr. piston inspecting a wiseco:

crank with gtm rods and arp studs:

the engine should be done by today or tomorrow. HOPEFULLY... i mean friggin' HOPEFULLY... the car should be tuned by friday or saturday. 2 months is not worth it man.
