Is anyone applying to liberal arts colleges? Or has applied to any?
I know, I know. Asians usually apply to Ivy leagues and super awesome schools, but there are super awesome liberal arts colleges too. So, are there any here in Soompi? Or am I all alone in this, admist thousands of future Yalies and Cornelians? ph34r.gif

List of random LACs off the top of my head

o0o. Could you describe your time at Carleton? Do you think there were benefits of attending a LAC as opposed to a university? Does the alumni network help?

Thanks biggrin.gif

++ All the Claremont colleges (like a jabillion tongue.gif)

I had this phase when I really wanted to go to Middlebury.

I want to apply to Wellesley next year under accelerated admission. But my dad is strictly against an all girls college. a;sdklfajdf. Oh well.

I got something from Pomona today! smile.gif and McKenna sent me this thick catalog thing.

I love the thought of going to an LAC, but I don't know if I could put up with going to a school that's smaller than my high school.

please do not PM me asking me to close threads, etc! i am no longer a mod! ^^ thanks!

Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Swarthmore are all in my area, especially the first two.
What's good about these 3 schools that if you go to one of these colleges and the school doesn't have a class that you want to take, you can take it at any one of these schools INCLUDING University of Pennsylvania. Pretty cooool.

Yea my dad is against all girls schools too, especially my mom.. she went to ewha and she was like omg there were no boys, I missed out on an important experience etc etc loll

I have the same thoughts as you!! I love LACs because they are usually smaller and I never got to really experience that individual attention stuff. I have some private school friends and they have like 10 student classes, and I kind of envy that. I really want a nuturing experience biggrin.gif but my high school is like bigger than these LACs and if its too small, then I wont meet that many people.. and yeah.. haha COOL anyway!

Does anyone find themselves in a problem with name recognition? Asian parents are (generally) not fans of LACs cause then they cant go brag to their friends about their kid's college admissions..
