i have a problem. im usein` a CD-R with dramas on it and i want to
play subtitles with it on GOM player but wen i copied the file from the
CD-ROM to a new folder and the .SRT file in the same folder, the
subtitles wont play. i checked to see if the file names were the same
and it was. the first couple of episodes worked when i did this but
i've been tryin` to figure out whats wrong with this episode for 30
minutes and im so frustrated right now - _ -;;
does anyone kno what the problem is? thanks in advance

all I can suggest is cutting the ENTIRE filename of the video and then pasting it over the subtitle file, then only change the extension of the subtitle file from AVI to SRT. This way you ensure that the filenames REALLY are the same.

^ thanks but they are really the same ^^;
i redid everything and on the top it said "subtitles available" so the subtitles sould be playin`.. so i guess theres something wrong with the subtitle files now.

well to see if it's really the subtitle file's fault or not, try installing Media Player Classic and see if it can handle your video/subtitle files properly or not. You might even like it enough to replace GOM as your default video player!

I didn't want to make a new thread b/c my question is about GOM player too.
I loaded the subs onto it but the apostrophes " ' " come out like AE or something.
The subs work on bs player. I'm dling the subs from d addicts but I have my own DVD.
I tried to watch it on bs player. I had to watch it in different segments and during the 2nd part.. the subs got messed up. What's the keyboard buttons you press to make the subs slower/faster?

I'm pretty sure that gom player doesn't support .srt subtitle files, they've never worked for me at least. Only .smi files. But VLC player plays them fine... and its a good video player. Try downloading that one.

^Gom DOES support .srt's because they work fine on my computer w/ Gom
I know the new version of Gom messes up the subtitles the way lazibratt described: "'s" come out like "AE". Older versions don't have that problem
