I'm a junior right now, and I want to intern somewhere over the summer and during senior year. What I'm interested in is social work, psych, and/or working with kids in special ed. I'm especially interested in working with autistic children. HOWEVER, I have no idea where to start looking (I tried google and I failed.) or how to sign up or ANYTHING. . . this isn't to add more stuff to my brag sheet for college apps, but because I really want to do it. Help? Thanks

well this isn't internship but my friend is also very interested in working with children who are in special ed and she volunteers at the special olympics- maybe you could do that too?

Where do u live? And yeah, I agree with the person above on asking your school counselor. I'm also a junior and also started looking for internships late, and found many of the internship applications were already due, but I managed to find one through google that isn't due yet.

i was looking for an internship, too. my counselor doesn't know what the heck i'm talking about...ever.
and i did look by myself and like taeceldi, i missed the deadline for all of the apps i found.
maybe ask your local hospital if they have any job openings or volunteer openings. otherwise, where i live we have a mental health center, you could look for some place like that and maybe apply...they might only let you deliver food though because of licensing etc.
