Yeah his big brother is a Docter and currently lives in Chicago
His little brother is at Massachusettes attending MIT.
We were going over college entrance essays at school today and so I came home and I decidd to look up essays. I googled "College personal statments" and it was weird but I found Leekai's.
And EW. I read his little brother Leekai's NAtional Merit Essay + Personal Statement. God Damn why is that whole family so talented?
Personal Statement :
My name is Lee-kai Matthew Wang, and I am an academic. To someone who doesnt know me, that may be all I am: a name, an entry on the honor roll, or a code number on an application. But being reduced to a statistic does justice to no one, and I am no exception. I have my own merits, my own ideals, and my own quirks that keep me from blending into the background. I refuse to be tossed nonchalantly into some arbitrary category like mail sorted by a disinterested laborer.
My entire life I have striven to learn as much as I could, continuously thirsting for more. I am interested in everything, being fortunate enough to have had as mentors two older brothers, Lee-hom, 26, and Leo, 28. Lee-hom, a musician, inspired my love of music. Before he left home for college, he used to play his guitar and sing for me, instilling in me a deep appreciation for the art. I started playing the violin when I was 5, and I have studied piano since I was six. I also play the drums and love singing. I have played drums and piano in jazz band and wind ensemble, and I have sung and danced in my school's show choir as well as productions of "South Pacific, "Bye Bye Birdie", "West Side Story," and "Carousel." I have studied piano for over eleven years and play drums in a band called Sploosh.
Leo, my eldest brother, is responsible for my more scholarly proclivities. He is currently studying for his M.D./Ph.D. in immunology. His breadth and depth of knowledge have always impressed everyone in my family, and I have always admired him, hoping that one day my own erudition might rival his. My academic achievements began with language. I learned my alphabet at 18 months, and since then I have picked up French, Spanish, and Latin, in addition to Chinese and English. I have also excelled in mathematics from an early age, earning the second highest math score in New York State on the Johns Hopkins University Talent Search in seventh grade. I have been the captain of my schools math team since freshman year and now I am coaching the MathCounts team at the middle school. Having actively participated in many mathematical competitions, I last year became the only student from my school ever to qualify to take the USA Mathematical Olympiad. I was also the First Vice-President of the New York State Junior Classical League, and I have won over forty awards at regional Latin competitions, including the "Mens sana in corpore san" award for highest overall achievement at the 2001 New York State Latin Convention.
I am now applying by early application to Harvard College. I plan to study biochemistry because I want to do cancer research. So many people I love have suffered from cancer in the past few years and at this point I want to offer whatever I can to the fight against it. I also intend to teach, for nothing is more valuable than to have the opportunity to impart unto others ones own knowledge. Besides my academic pursuits I plan to play on the frisbee team as well as fence.
Great, you say, so youre at least as talented as the next applicant whose self-gratifying essay I have to read. But I persist: I am different. What sets me apart from other students?
I am unique because I do not allow myself to be inhibited by regulation. Without doubt rules are necessary, but I am a firm believer that once the rules are mastered and their motives understood it is often proficuous to break them. I am in constant pursuit of mastery over the rules; what is more, I am not afraid to leave them behind.
When the words of prose become unfettered we call it poetry; when we free language of mechanical concerns we achieve fluency. When the notes of a musical composition have been learned we forsake accuracy in favor of expression. It is my goal to attain that level of understanding in everything I do. This is what sets me apart: the quest for intellectual freedom from pedantry.
National Merit Essay:
No one has had a profounder influence on my personal development than my two older brothers. They have always taken care of me and looked after me, and when I need advice, they're always the ones I turn to first. Growing up, I worshiped them, for they were the ones who watched television with me, who played games with me, and who guided my shaky steps through toddlerhood.
Moreover, my interests have been shaped by those of my brothers. For example, I have come to share my second brother's passion for music. Before he left home for college, he used to play his guitar and sing for me, instilling me a deep appreciation for the art. I love to sing, and I play the drums and the piano, which I have studied for eleven years. In addition, I have adopted my eldest brother's love of language. He is the most intellectual member of the family; his breadth and depth of knowledge have always impressed everyone. It is my perennial aspiration that one day my own erudition might rival his.
I recall the first time that my second brother went to college and left me at home brotherless. I cried for days; the only people I could think of to whom I might turn for comfort were they. That is still true: whenever I am troubled I know I can call them, whether I desire to reason out my problems or simply to rant. However, I hardly ever see either of them these days; my second brother has become a popular musician in Asia and the eldest is studying in another state for his M.D/Ph.D in immunology. As for me, I am about to emerge from the familiar territory of my home and begin the next stage of my life. Once more I will need the guidance of my brothers, but soon will be time for me to make my own path.
holy crap that is one kick-ass essay

LOL I found this piece of news absolutely ADORABLE

Recently, Leehom was in Shanghai holding a press conference for his August 12th concert in Shanghai. The press conference was held by Sohu-Online. During the questioning session, Leehom was very polite, composed, and articulate like usual. However, once there was a break, Leehom's inner child broke lose.
At first he sat in his chair, then he became distracted and curious, and all of a sudden he started playing with the stuffed dogs in front of him. He was so intent in playing with the little stuffed dogs in front of him, that he had to be reminded that that interview was restarting.
Leehom's inner child isn't something new. Although Leehom is very serious when it comes to his music, he still has a hidden inner child. Many of his co-workers say that it's Leehom's "kiddy-side" that makes his music so creative. "Even as he ages, he's still young at mind and comes up with the wackiest ideas that only kids could think of." Leehom admits that he has a bit of a split personality. Leehom produces, composes, arranges, plays instrumentals, and even writes lyrics for his own songs, therefore because not many other people are involved, making music is a very lonely and boring process. To keep himself from being too bored , he likes to practice accents, his favorite being the Indian accent. Also he has a habit of talking to himself as he plays the role of a producer, lyrcists, composer, singer, etc.
"Sometimes I say to myself in a strict voice as the producer, 'I think that take sucked.' then I'll reply to myself in as the singer, "Really you think so?"' It's a bit weird at first, but working till 5 am in the morning can do crazy things to your brain," Leehom joked.
Leehom's co-workers explain that it's Leehom's quirky side that makes him such a musical genius, as well as an interesting person to be next to.

"Fake Leehom Fools Thousands of Fans"
Recently there has been several incidents on the internet involving "Fake Leehoms". The first involves an online blog on Sina. Suprisingly, even Sina did not catch that this individual was fake and actually claimed that this was Leehom's official Blog. The blog has already gotten over 800,000 hits and thousands of comments. However, to many's dissapointment SonyBMG warned fans that the site is a fake and that Leehom does not have a blog. Leehom usually leaves messages through his official site, www.wangleehom.com, where he released his "GMA Thank You Speech". The Sina blog fooled many Leehom fans who really thought it was Leehom because this "fake Leehom" also has posts in English. However, many overseas fans have pointed out that the level of English on Leehom's "Fake" blog is no where close to the fluency achieved by Leehom through his other message left on his official site.
Leehom commented that, "The internet is a scary place, it's extremely easy to steal one's identity and claim it as oneself. I hope that in this day and age people are careful when it comes to believing such false claims. I don't own a blog. When I'm online, I sometimes visit my fanboards, I like to read suggestions and criticism from fans so I can improve my music. However, even then I rarely leave messages. I like to be anonymous."
Another, even weirder blog is run by a girl named "Ai Er" She claims to be Leehom's girlfriend and claims that all of Leehom's songs are written for her. She updates her blog frequently describing dates she's been on with Leehom. Many people get a laugh from reading her blog and others called her "crazy" and "delusional"
