How good are my chances of getting accepted to UF (University of Florida)? These are my stats and i'm a junior this year.

8 AP classes
3.8 GPA (weighted)
1300 SAT out of 1600
Clubs: NHS, beta club, Key club, and Interact
Over 150 hours of community service. including hospital volunteering and church volunteering
Drums for adult congregation praise team at church. (since last year)
Band for 3 years, not senior year however. 1st chair every year.
All-county band 1st chair
Soccer for 3 years. (captain in sophmore year)
National Youth Forum on Medicine

I also have a question about band. I have not signed up for band my senior year and people say that it would affect me because they want to see that u don't quit. Do you think that quitting band senior year will greatly affect my chances?

Scores look good enough to me. Don't really know how competitive that place is though.

well this is what i was told....since this is the first year they added in the writing section, it doesn't count for much. UF really only looks at the reading and math section this year. i got a 600 on the writing section if u really wanted to know.

well i got into UF. CLASS OF 2010 BABY!!!! GO GATORS!!!!

150 hours??? are u in IB? i am...or i was and UF really likes IB. especially our schoo....EHS, since it's 4th in the nation and it's in gainesville. only thinkg i recommend u do is raise ur GPA. also if u're out of state....ur chances are super low. if you're in state...and u do good on the new SAT and raise ur GPA, u're 100% solid.

ppl in my school got in with like 2.6 gpa...since he took IB and AP classes it was 2.6 weighted GPA..then he took some UF classes to bring it up some more..

DO WELL ON UR ESSAY. WRITE LIKE U REALLY WANT TO COME. this dude was rejected cuz he wrote a i can't readty essay. he got in later because he appealed....but still...

ne ways gl

yes i live in Florida. i'm taking 8 AP classes through out high school. is that enough? wow, a 2.6 weighted GPA and they made it?

i won't be able to raise my GPA until senior year is over because i'm doing early decision. so hopefully, by looking at what i have so far, it'll be enough.
