yeah~ i've been into the apple stores a few times in the past month, just playing around with the iBooks... i've talked to one of the employees, and he even told me to wait for the macbooks instead. i'm thinkin' about getting one this summer. but... my current dell inspiron 6000 is not even a year old, though, but i'll most likely hand it down to my sis.

If you're really wondering how he (Tetra) looks...click; although I highly advise that you don't-- for your sake.

i think im gunna make the transition from a pc to a mac.

It does, but bootcamp doesn't run it flawlessly. There's still a number of issues that need to be resolved.
Furthermore, it seems most of the latest macbooks have major heat issues, especially the new 13.3" model.

I'm saving up to buy a White MacBook, 100GB harddrive space, 1GB ram, 13.3 in screen. I'm not getting the black one because the logo on top is white
If you're in school, don't forget to use the education discount- you can save around $100.
And you might be able to save some money on the HD and ram- apparantly it's really easy to swap out the RAM and HD. But that might void the warranty.
You also might want to wait for a back to school sale- sometimes they have good deals or throw in a free printer or something like that.

I just got the Macbook a few days ago. Haven't tried it yet though. Can't wait.
Wait.... you got it, but you haven't used it?
^ If I knew how to smoke it, maybe I'd get it, but I don't know how. I'll probably aim for the white because it has a plastic covering and I like that whereas the black one has a matte finish. But the white gets dirty easily :\ Oh well, I don't evenhave enough money...yet ^^;
I was thinking maybe somehow popping it out and just a thin layer of spray paint
orrrrrrrr replace the white LED with a blue LED....... that'd look sweet..... black with a blue glowing apple

And the whole overheating/don't actually put your laptop on your lap thing.

please do not PM me asking me to close threads, etc! i am no longer a mod! ^^ thanks!

Is Macbook the way to go?

hmm is it those laptops in the apple store? those get abused quite a bit.
The overheating thing is a bit worse than that. Other than some discomfort on the palmrest, it is high enough to start affecting the hardware, shutting it down. Macbooks have always had heat problems mostly due to being a thin design (something most thin notebooks have to compromise on)..but their latest offerings have worsened the heat aspect. But as far as value goes.. their 13.3 is a pretty nice deal.
