I was thinking of getting one of the Hyundai Sonata series or the KIA Spectra 2006 but I keep a lot of bad stuff about these two companies. I asked a friend about it and he said they are picked on because they came out much later than all the other cars. They were basically the "freshmen" of Car Highschool. But I don't know... I want to hear what other people have to say about this.
- Thanks!

LOL @ KIA.
Okay, maybe it's better if I don't get the Spectra 2006... but I really love the look though. I hear they are really fuel efficient but it's no use if I'm going to die colliding with a mailbox.
Anyone have this Sonata? I want it. How is it?

I like simple yet elegant and classy look on my ideal car, can anyone recommend a car like that for me? I prefer the ones from Subaru and above from the chart. lol.

Oh and so you know, Kia is owned by Hyundai. I suppose they're so crappy to help make Hyundai look better (sarcasm folks). But yeah, Kia is just the really really cheap alternative to Hyundai.
I heard the Sonata is highly recommended as far as value goes from magazines such as Car and Driver, Consumer Reports, etc.
If I was to buy a car any time soon (that is, if I wasn't in Okinawa), I'd get a Sonata. Seriously.

Funny how some big names from the Land of the Rising Sun are under Hyundai (namely Subaru, Nissan, and Mitsubishi). Just shows the stereotypes just aren't true these days.
Whaa... ?? lol. Hyundai bought out Subaru, Nissan and Mitsubishi? Or are they just new names for japanese release?
Thanks jphase, I didn't think Hyundai were so bad. My friend said the same thing about the magazine reviews. I was at the Toyota webpage the other day and it has a car that I really like. So many to choose from.
Any with KiA Spectra 2006 want to share their experience? Ha-ha.. I'm eager to know.

No he's just saying how Subaru, Nissan and Mitsubishi are ranked BELOW Hyundai when it comes to reliability. I've always thought Nissan's reliability blows. So it doesn't surprise me one bit that it's ranked as low as it is.

If you're really wondering how he (Tetra) looks...click; although I highly advise that you don't-- for your sake.

Now the cars are so much better, and I see only good things in the near future for Hyundai. My sister owns a 2000 Sonata and she has never had any major problems with it and she drives from the Bay Area to the Los Angeles area from time to time. My best friend bought a 2006 Hyundai Sonata stickshift and he really likes the car. Sufficient power, comfortable, and best of all affordable.
About KIAs... don't buy a car with it's initials that is known for "Killed In Action".
