vocal cutting a song on cool edit pro

hi. i;ve been having trouble using this program. i want to sing and record with some backing (accompanment) and i have no idea how to instrumentalize (
?) a song,. i know there is a vocal cut in channel mixing but im not sure how to completely get rid of the vocals.

hi there, ums for a fact you can't completely get rid of the vocals with Cool Edit Pro. For cool edit pro when you cut the vocals out, the background vocals are still there, i think that's a good thing. But yeah you can't get rid of vocals completely unless you have the ultimate mixing equipment (abit exaggerated there lol).
Ums u know how to cut vocals out though right? if not i'll just explain it here although i think it's there in the singing thread. Ok just load up a song. Once you've loaded it up, Press on that rectangle button on the left hand corner. Underneath that Rectangle button should be 3 tabs. They are "files", "effects" and "favourites." Under favourites, you will see the word "vocal cut" just double click on that and WALAH! You got yourself an instrument. ^^ Hope that helped.
