Hi, i'm looking for your opinions on racing chips and experiences from your friends, acquintances or yourselves.
I remember a couple of years ago my cousin was complaining about what a scam it was and how he and all his friends fell for it AFTER they bought it. Any input would be appreciated.
If you know about any other affordable upgrades please say so.

uh .. care to be more specific? such as what car? there are a lot of ECU chips for a lot of cars ..

Chips are useless when you've only lightly modified your car. The only thing you'll really notice is the removal of the speed governor.

heard those resistors aka SPEED CHIPS! can mess up your car. cant remember the details.

unless its a tuned eprom chip for your ecu, i wouldnt even bother.

Think those resistors somehow mess with the A/F mixture.

Chips to upgrade European cars work the best.
Hondata's upgrades on Hondas are as drastic as euro ones. There are a TON of brands out there too. I don't trust many of them lol.
However, I know one chip for the Evo gets 30 whp.
I'm planning on getting a GIAC chip. It puts my 200 hp GTI to about 250 hp.
Dynos about 225 whp. Costs about $700. 1/4 time drops more than 1/2 a second I think.
