ALL ABOUT MORNING MUSUME

Where It Began: It all started in 1997, when Asayan held an audition for a new female rock vocalist who would be produced by Sharan Q, a hit group/label at the time. Michiyo Heike (who goes on to be soloist) was the winner of the contest. Tsunku also chose five other girls who will be members of a girl group. These members were Yuko Nakazawa, Natsumi Abe, Kaori Iida, Aya Ishiguro and Asuka Fukuda--later known as Morning Musume (aka Momusu).

Who is in Morning Musume now?: Members (10) of Morning Musume are Hitomi Yoshizawa (20), Ai Takahashi (19), Asami Konno (18), Makoto Ogawa (17), Risa Niigaki (17), Miki Fujimoto (20), Reina Tanaka (16), Eri Kamei (16), Sayumi Michishige (15), and of course Koharu Kusumi (13).

FIRST GENERATION:

1st gen (L to R) - Kaori Iida, Asuka Fukuda, Natsumi Abe, Yuko Nakazawa, Aya Ishiguro

All graduated (left the group): Yuko Nakazawa (graduated April 2001) to pursue solo career.

Aya Ishiguro (graduated January 2000) she later married a rock guitarist and published a book on child rearing as a star.
Asuka Fukuda (graduated April 1999) to pursue schooling.
Kaori Iida: (graduated January 2005) to pursue solo career.
Natsumi Abe: (graduated January 2004) to pursue solo career.

i have to say that i've come to really like all the current members right now but too bad makoto and asami are leaving soon. also i do like koharu now. i've seen some vids on her on youtube and she seems nice and dorky. i think i like the dorky part of her so, yea, i don't dislike her anymore.

my japanese friends really like them so i decided to learn about this group and it's kind of confusing to know everyone isnt it? with so many rotating members. And whoah! their soooo short are you sure that's their correct heights, because if it is they're soo tiny.

^lol. and they are a pretty interesting group of girls o get into because there's no group in the WORLD that has their sound, music, and image at all. trust me... just youtube them and you'll find thousands of pages of info. Beig Japan's top girl group of all time they do come across strongly.

yes. Mini Moni is a Morning Musume subgroup... meaning that they consisted of mainly Morning Musume members... except for the one Hawaiian girl, Mika Todd.

the leader was is morning Musume. her name is Mari Yaguchi. she was graduated in 2002 and she resigned from Morning Musume in 2005 due to a boyfriend incident.
