also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

go with manual, you won't regret it.

learn how to drive manual, not a big problem. find a friend that has a beat up manual car and practice on it. or you can learn at the dealer. i read this topic on offtopic, this guy wanted to test drive an sti at the dealer, but he didn't know how to drive manual. the salesman kindly taught him how to drive stick.

Yea that's the best way to learn. Even if you buy a manual though, it shouldn't take you more than 2 weeks to get the hang of it. New cars nowadays are more forgiving than old cars when it comes to stalling. New cars almost help you shift the gears.

If you're a car person and enjoy driving, get a manual tranny. In the long run, you'll enjoy it more than an automatic.

If you get good it at on a technical level, you can drive it comfortably in almost any condition.

If you have at least one person willing to teach you, I think you should get a manual. It is more fun. The only reason I would get an automatic is if you commute often in traffic.

One day before my friend was buying an RX8, he called me and another guy up asking what our opinions were.

Next day, he bought a manual and never regretted it.

anyone who buys an automatic RX-8 is a tool.
automatic rx-8 is probably THE worst car in that catergory on the market. i'm a rotary fan, and even i KNOW it sucks.

I say go with the stick. It makes driving much more enjoyable. I didn't know how to drive stick well when I first got a car that was manual. I had friends who were nice enough to teach me on their cars before that though. So I'd say, get the car with stick, have somebody teach you the basics so that you have the concept. Just practice for awhile in a big parking lot then onto empty roads until you feel comfortable with it. When my friend got his first car with manual, I was able to teach him how to drive it well enough to not stall and get the car moving without burning the clutch and stuff in about 2 straight hours in big empty parking lot. So it's really not as hard as it may seem.

It's really not that hard to learn how to drive a manual car, it just takes a little practice. Make sure the person you find is a pretty decent teacher though and that they won't freak out when you're starting to learn (like the person who taught me did =___=).

Glad I helped tongue.gif

Thats a hard choice.. manuial or auto hmm... if u can learn manual or want to enjoy the car to its full potential, u should go manual.. but if u drive alot in traffic and stuff, just get the auto..

either is fine..depends if you work and have to commute. commuting with a stick is a b*tch. but if its just for fun then go manual all the way. and make sure u learn to drive stick on a crappy beater car first.

If you really want a manual, I suggest you find a friend with a manual beater to teach you.... Otherwise, you won't get too far from the lot. Haha.

If you know how the manual cars work and how to drive it but never had tried it, its okay....I say go for it. When I first bought my car I did'nt know how to drive stick...and the Honda lot I drove off was uphill...
