so i was at the track and in my track group was a 1996 supercharged 700hp viper. i talked to the guy he said he had 3.9 gears, suspension and some other stuff. he said it made 500lb/ft @ 1000rpm!!!!!!

. i asked him if i could get a ride in it and he said sure. let me just say that thing is ungodly fast, it has such a smooth torque curve too. it just pushes you back in your seat and holds you there. after the test drive he said something i never thought i would hear. he said "if you want to drive it later you can." OMFG am i dreaming? so of course i jumped on the chance. he took it on the balcony at willowsprings just to try to learn how to drift, so after the even there is a free run session. i drove it then. i tried to drift it, but as you can imagine its not the easiest thing to drift. it has huge 335 tires in the rear and 275 tires upfront. 2nd gear from about 50 to 105mph seems to be over in a second. this is definetly the fastest thing i've driven. on this small course i got it to about 120mph before i broke early cause this was my frist time driving it and i didnt want to experiement with the brakes

. there is definetly a fine line with this car between not enough gas that those huge tires want to grip, and believe me they want to grip, and too much gas where you just spin out. this isnt helped by the vipers loose, no feeling gas pedal (at least his was). so it was difficult to give it just like hair more throttle. it would probably be ok if i had time to get used to it, but i just drove it once. it was so much fun, i had the biggest smile on my face for the rest of the day.

here's the vid, not too impressive as i spun out a lot. but it was fun!
