haven't downloaded songs in a while....but now i need music again haha. what's a good software? i used to use kazaa/morpheus/ares. not sure what's the best one these days....kinda out of the loop.

Kazaa has spyware in some songs I think and isn't that thing illegal?
I use Limewire. Works wonderfully, even if you have dial-up. Me being an example.

Limewire is a good P2P program, but I'm an advocate for legal downloading of music. I highly recommend using iTunes for buying music. Some people have criticized me saying that only "rich" people can afford to buy legally from iTunes (for every single song). Pah... just set a budget.
Seriously - reconsider P2P programs for music. I know 4 close friends who have been convicted (two after downloading only 200 songs...).
Also, just to clear it up, neither Limewire nor Kazaa (nor most other P2P programs for that matter) are illegal. However, downloading copyrighted files is illegal.

I used Ares before, its good but doesn't have rare files. Mostly just american top 40.
Limewire always slows my computer down when I first install but then it becomes un-laggy.

I use Limewire, but I dont like it very much. Its good for the first 10-15 minutes, but after a while everything I try to download "needs more information" and then limewire sends me this promt saying that I have no internet connection when everything else is running well! What the homo~~~~

i used to use kazza ... and i recommend that, limewire is ok.. but i liked using Ares more.

I use Soulseek but it gives me major problems. I used Limewire ages ago but I don't particularly like it. WinMX is another option although it's reaaally confusing and you're always on queue.

limewire (gnutella client) or eMule (ed2k client). adware free and they work. you'll find torrent sites with full albums too.
