for those of you who didn't know already...my baby benzo got her new kicks installed last week...

but now i have my original 17" limited edition wheels just sittin' around & i'm debating over whether or not i should hold onto them as backups & for when i sell my ride in the future...or to just sell them? it'll give me extra cash for the new grill i've been wanting to get.

keep in mind, these are limited edition w/ the old school benz logo & they only come w/ the limited edition slk230 that i drive.

which would be smarter? just to keep them, right?

If you really need the money or the wheels take up too much room, then I guess you should sell them. Otherwise, I'd just keep them. I always keep my stock parts if they're in useable condition just in case something happens. I actually have a set of stock wheels for my car right now too, and the way I see it, it's nice to have a spare set of wheels. Like if the tires on my car right now get worn down and need replacing, I can always switch back to my other wheels while I wait for new tires to be shipped or something like that.

i would sell them. you dont track the car or anything, so you dont need an extra set of wheels. they will just take up space. they arent going to be worth anything in the future "limited edition" or not. get some extra cash and go buy yourself something nice, something you will use

I would only keep the old ones and slap some winter tires on if you plan on driving it in the snow.

& I don't think selling the limited edition rims with the car would matter, because I doubt anyone would choose your old ones over your new ones. Haha.

it wont make any difference. we are talking about a recent MB. its not a classic car from the 50's where orignal stuff matters. besides MB have terrible resale value, my friends dad just sold his 00 (i think it was 00) MB sl600 for like $35k. when he bought it 6 years ago it was like $135k. thats $100k decrease in 6 years. if he had aftermarket wheels on it it wouldnt have sold for any more or any less. i still say i would sell them if i were you and use the money to buy something i would use

if you plan on driving your car in the winter, and it snows there...if you plan on running snow tires, i'd keep them around for that sole purpose..

..otherwise, sell them for some quick cash that you can use on something else, like that grille you said you wanted.

i've decided to keep them.

since the tires are worn out on them, i'm just going to slap on some winter tires & save them for the rough winter season...when it rains, snows & floods like yuck...(i live in washington state).

plus, in such bad weather, i think it'll be safer to drive around on the 17" rather than the 19".
