Yo I need a summer job. When I send in applications and I call to check on the application status, I always get asked whether I'll be leaving for school in the fall. The true answer is yes, and I feel that it's killing my chances. Have you or would you advise lying? Or just keep telling the truth and hope for the best?

nah man, don't lie cuz it's gonna come back and bite u in the butt
what job r u looking for cuz retail and low-pay job don't care when you'll be leaving since the turnover rate is pretty high anyway?
good luck w/ your job search
hope you hit the jackpot and find a job that you not only like but also pays well

Tell them the truth, but it also depends on the places your applying for. Retail, Fast-food, Production and Hotels usually don't care if your leaving for college in the fall, but bigger chain stores and companies try to stay away from people who are going away for college.

it depends what kind of jobs ur applying for. like i work at a tea/boba place and they would LOVE to hear it if the workers wer leaving school to work for them
cuz then the schedule would be easily arranged

lolz...well i was applying for summer jobs but i checked temporary and part time...and when they ask me, i tell them it's not for sure if i stay or not because i might move back n i might not. it's true tho because i might commute and i also want to keep the job!

I know I have the same problem. All the employers that interviewed me had asked the same ol' question: Are you going back to school?
I find it easier to just tell them the truth.
