Or you could try it on a different computer and run the updater again, but click on "restore" to wipe your pod clean and start fresh. (I'd only do this as a last resort")
And really, when you want to remove it from your PC, make sure you do it properly and not just pull it out, that makes things worse over time.

If I turn it on the usual way and if it freezes or lags, I press all the buttons randomly and it works. >_> It's not good for the iPod.. but hey. It works.
After that, I charge it.
And then I turn it on and it works fine.
But when I turn it off, I put the 'hold' button in place. And I turn the 'hold' off when I want to use it again.

i believe apple purposely constructed it so that just a few months after your warranty expires, your ipod spontaneously screws up forever, but will display a random icon to give you a false sense of hope that you can fix it through one of the many futile recovery methods on the ipod site.

They probably did. I had problems with my ipod after the warranty expired. I started getting folder icons. Apple doesn't even tell you what it is, just tells you how to fix it for like 9 seconds. Just sell it before anything major happens and save up for something else. I hear Irivers are good and Creative Zens.

meanwhile , just take it to the store and get it fixed . it won't cost that much . don't go playing around with obscure software and so on , just get it done properly first time round .
there's this girl i know and she's okay .
there's this guy as well , he's much the same .

Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary

apple uses old technology that other companies already have put on their players, but they dont have the advertising power of apple.
