do you keep certain textbooks? or do you sell them all?

lets say if your major was biology, would you keep your bio/chem/ochem textbooks?
i thought it might be a good idea to keep them for future reference....i dunno
are these textbooks even helpful for preparing the MCAT/PCAT/DAT?

yeah, i keep all of my finance / accounting books too

if i sell them, i get like 1/10 of the original price and most of the books i bought were new when i bought them

it's an excellent idea to keep your books cuz i think you might need them in the future

I'm a Pharm. Sci. major so I kept my bio and chem books (and cuz the chem books are notes the professor puts together which means no sell back).

I think it's a good idea to keep the books that are from courses of your major.

I've kept all of my electronic books, but I'm also planning to upgrade my library with more difficult books (and also those textbooks that are good for reference). I also replaced my calculus and physics books with other calculus and physics textbooks, so it is sort of an upgrade in itself.

I kept a sociology textbook, only because I liked reading it. Otherwise, I sell pretty much everything.

i kinda regret selling some of my books -- even if i don't think i'll be using them again, i got them brand-new and sold them for peanuts. like, i bought and sold a hardcover complete edition of shakespeare that i now think would be pretty cool to have. i did keep my orgo books and tests though. not that i think i'll ever be looking up chemical reactions, but i can flip through them and say, "whoa, i used to do this stuff!" and i kept all my psych textbooks, because i like them.

^I also keep my language books, and some psychology books before I changed my major. I'm in the East Asian specialist program, and I try to sell most of my books because they're mainly stories/literature. sweatingbullets.gif

however, i've kept some books back....but they're not exactly textbooks.....they're just set readings from some of my english courses....eg, the tenant of wildfell hall by anne bronte (i love that book! ^__^)

i never bought the textbooks in the first place - since i was in the library a fair bit, i got by by borrowing them from the high-use section and reading/understanding the material ahead of schedule.

owning the prescribed texts would definitely be handy if you dont need the cash - there'll often be times when you'll be required to draw upon assumed prior knowledge etc.

Yup! Keep books from my major b/c you'll never know when you'll need it again.

I've kept all of my textbooks, regardless of the subject. I got too attached to them so I refused to sell them back. Weird but true.

I only kept a few books that I thought I might be able to use again (though I usually wasn't) or that I thought were interesting. I sold the vast majority of them back, because they take up too much room and are a pain to ship or store.

i keep the ones that will be good reference or are interesting, but i still sell textbooks that i used for my major, especially if the price i get back from selling is pretty good.
