i want to connect my notebook to my tv but i dont know how. someone told me i need an s-video cable but the thing is i dont have a s-video cable slot on my notebook. what i mean is that i dont have the little circle thingy where you're suppose to put the cable. (i know thats a bad descriptions. sorry. but thats the best way i can think up of saying it.)
but one time i did hook up my notebook to a tv at school before but i used the VGA slot (i think thats what its called. its like a small trapezoid with 3 rows of holes. sorry about the bad description once again.)
so am i suppose to get a s-video cable with a VGA thingy? im not even sure if there are things like that. like i went to best buy today and i couldnt find anything.
so if anyone knows anything about this please help me.
thanks!
(and sorry about my little knowledge about computer parts and etc. i hope you understood what im trying to say.)

=\ a vga to tv adapter would be expensive and not worth the time and money. I think the majority of the laptops out there do have a TV out... it just might be in a different form..
Perhaps you do have the option and we just need to look for it.
Can you possibly see what connectors you have on your laptop?
Describe and list.
To enable it, it should be in the advanced options of display...
right click desktop, properties, last tab, advanced options and in one of those fun tabs there should be the option for enabling the tv out. (keep that in mind when you find the connection)

Then unless you can find out if your laptop's VGA out is one of those unique ones that let you have TV out (makes use of those extra pins) you don't have much of a choice on how to connect it to a TV. You will have to hunt for a VGA to composite or VGA to S-Video adapter.
