well i have an iaudio x5L or xL (i forget which) and it worked fine up until i had gotten a virus (without knowing) on my laptop and from uploading music on my iaudio from laptop, it got a virus on there. I got rid of the virus on my laptop but every time I hook up my mp3 to my laptop, it freezes and lags the laptop. Is there any way I can get rid of the virus. I dont really care if it erases all my music files if I had to do it as long as it gets rid of it.

I would recommend backing up your playlists and/or settings. Scan again using comprehensive file scan (including archived files). Un-install the program. Re-install the program. Restore whatever is necessary. I personally haven't heard of a virus in an MP3 seeing as how it's just data but who knows.

It's likely some files that were necessary for the program were removed or modified beyong repair. Or it's also possible to be still affected or have files that are part of the virus but cannot do much by themselves.

Yeah, it might be best to just format or clear out the MP3 player however it may be done. Then just re-upload the files back into it.

It would be an interesting virus though... There aren't any that would effect mp3 players but one that spreads by them would be something very different.

Not exactly if it is a virus on my mp3 but it freezes my computer and laptop like hell.
