Paying a visit to a cabinetmakers' exhibition in Copenhagen this week, the handsome royal was clearly taken with the craft and the skills behind it. Superficial viewing wasn't enough to satisfy the 38-year-old's curiosity, as he wasted no time in bending over to get good look at the joins used in one picnic table. He also inspected a section of fencing, before putting an ornately crafted stool to good use.
Organisers of the event won't have been surprised at their VIP guest's attention to detail, as he is well known for his interest in furniture making. The prince is also a patron of SE Design, the organisation behind the annual exhibition, which showcases the work of innovative craftsmen who combine experimental looks with usability. And, judging by the smile on the crown prince's face when he took the weight off on one of their creations, they've got at least one fan inside the royal household.
