Yea, so... im buggin about college right now. I'm a junior goin into senior, and i honestly have no clue about what to do. Right now, my GPA stands at a 3.7 weighted without any SAT scores yet... I have pretty outstanding extra curriculars.
The problem is, I really screwd up my junior year and got 4 c's over 2 semesters (2 in AP Bio and 2 in Math Anal or Precalc). My GPA is still a solid 3.7 due to a good first two years... but is this enough to get into a UC? I'm shooting for UCI, UCSD, and UCB as the highest... really appreciate some psychological comfort or help. haha =D
Thanks

im not in college but just to let you know uc's have their own gpa calculation system where they only use soph&junior grades so your gpa is actually lower :/
does ur school do an extra UC gpa? mine does, maybe u should ask ur counselor...

I'm going into my sophomore year of college next year, and I still don't know what I want to do, and so do a lot of other people.
I'm sure you can get into Irvine, my friend got in with a 3.4, and she's from out of state.

I don't have a girlfriend, but I do know a woman that would be mad if I said that.

ehhh. c's are actually REALLY REALLY BAD especially during your junior year. uc's weigh your junior year the heaviest. just try your best on the sat's. what's your gpa unweighted? i don't remember if they asked for unweighted on the application, but i'm pretty sure they did. ideally, an unweighted gpa should be like 3.6, minimum. i dunno. i guess just work really hard from now on. the uc acceptance system is kinda weird and random. i don't really think they have a hardcore formula; but nevertheless, the general rule is to have really high grades and strong extracurriculars. but then again -- this rule applies to every school. uc's are sometimes pretty harsh when it comes to accepting students, so just try your best. g'luck!

You have a fighting chance. WRite a really good essay (personal statement). i was in worse shape than you. I had a 3.8 weighted...a D in trig, and 3 Cs ---all my junior year. 2 of those Cs were in AP Bio and my major is bio
my SAT scores SUCKED like hell (I got 580 writing/ 590 math for a grand total of 1170!), my SAT2s were about the same, and I had NO sports and like 3 clubs/extracurriculars (key club, japanese club, csf --which i got kicked out of).
i got into ucsd & uci, but i didn't apply to ucb (too far). don't lose hope =)

You got C's in AP classes, I think they would be impressed with that than an A+ in a regular math class.

I think you can get into UCI. I think schools look at more than just your grades anyway, it's a comprehensive review. anyway, good luck.
