Prince of Tennis ( Personally.. i like tennis so I liked it but if you dont like tennis.. not the anime for you )
Samurai Champloo ( If you liked Rouroni Kenshin.. you will like this too! )

Yes, the 1st I'll recommend is definitely gonna be Slam Dunk. It's not just the best basketball anime, to me, its manga is one of the best mangas, along side with Dragon Ball

^13 episodes, huh? You should check out Zero no Tsukaima season one to three (12-13 episodes each season) or possibly Happy Lesson.

Well, I can tell you right off the bat, at least 80% of anime out there has a rock song opening.

So..... try Fate/Stay Night. The opening and ending songs are nice.
