Yeah it does. From my experience it helps somewhat but you still have to manage your money wisely. If you do get qualified for financial aid it only depends on waht your parents income is. Financial aid money can vary depending on the income, and the money will be disbursed to you after they see how much they can give you. Sometimes, financial aid doesn't get disbursed, and this is because it has been used to pay for your tuition, etc. The disbursed payment is sort of like what is left over from what they give you total. You can use this to pay for housing and other such things as well, such as food, books, etc.
By the way, not everyone can get financial aid obviously. I know an acquaintance whose mom works and her income is only $44,000 a year and she still didn't get qualified for financial aid..which majorly sucks.
like i said, it can all depend on your parents and how much they make. i hate this bureaucratic sh*t as well but who does..it makes the world go 'round
you'd have to be a person on the streets with empty pockets in order to get enough finaid disbursement in your bank account in order to pay montly rent for an apartment. But I guess, it depends on where you live since rents expensive if you're a city dweller.
