Do you mind sharing the recipe??
It takes a lot of playing around with the right amounts... and I found a few recipes online by using google but I still ended up guestimating my amounts. I should have written the exact cake proportions down. This time I didn't, but the next time I make it, I will take note of it =)
Basically, the cake was lots of cocao powder, flower, sugar, baking powder, vegetable oil, 3 eggs, a little butter.
For the chocolate cake, you can just use whatever recipe you find online (any chocolate cake will do, so long as its light and fluffy). You can simply buy a cake mix in the store to simplify the process if you're short on time.
For the MOUSSE, this is completely based off of my own experimentation... I found a few recipes online but I didn't like them
See this video on technique:

10 oz semi sweet chocolate chips (change this depending how sweet you like your mousse)
1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tbs butter
1. Take .5 cups whipping cream and butter into a large metal bowl. Put this bowl over a pot of boiling water. Wait till it gets pretty hot (keep heat on medium). When the cream + butter is completely melted and on the verge of boiling (keep stirring!), put chocolate chips in, reduce heat to low, and stir the mixture till the chocolate melts with a whisk. Set melted chocolate aside, wait till it becomes room temperature.
2. Beat remaining 1 cup of whipped cream with a whisk (hopefully you have a mechanical mixer... lol) It takes about 6-8 minutes of whipping before its whisked till it forms peaks. Cover and put in the fridge until the chocolate cools to room temperature.
3. After about half an hour, GENTLY fold the whipped cream into the chocolate using a rubber spatula. Keep folding until its a constant color-- put finished mousse in fridge for half an hour before putting it on the cake.
Hope that helps!
EDIT
OH yea! If you want it to be a bit of a coffee mousse, heat some coffee liquor in a pan until it boils (so the alcohol evaporates), add the cream to it, warm, and just pour of the chocolate chips.
