So after a long week of doing school work, my friends and I decided to make some desserts...and combine them together into a "house."

...And here is how it turned out. >_>

Well, hahahaha, the quality of pictures my phone takes isn't really that good and we agreed it sorta looks disgusting and ugly (compared to the other posts in this thread).

The red, bloody stuff is strawberry jello. The black burnt marshmallow is held up by the toothpick is supposed to be our mailbox. We bent the rice krispie we made into a roof, which reminds me of a wagon. The actual house is made up of carrot cake that we baked using a waffle maker and so we just stacked them on top of each other and used frosting as the paint. On top of the roof is either a flag or a man...O_O

Also, before we ate it, we shook the house to create an earthquake and then the house collapsed. Though however disgusting it may look, it tasted good and sweet. All the desserts nicely complemented each other.

...After several bites, we couldn't eat it anymore or else we would barf.

Here you go. Personally, when I made it a while back, I liked the chicken, but the sauce was TOO sweet for my taste. 'Cause the sauce is basically, Sugar, corn syrup and ginger. Or Ginger flavored syrup. Well, most people would know this, the sauce is just like the one you eat with Taho (sweet tofu).

Sweet and Crispy Chicken (Dak Kang Jung)

Ingredients:
40 pieces of chicken wings, salt, flour, starch powder, eggs, ground pepper, vegetable oil, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, peanuts, sesame seeds, dried and crushed red hot chili pepper.

http://blog.maangchi.com/uploaded_images/kangjung-716903.jpg
  1. Prepare 40 chicken wings or chunks of chicken, rinse them off in cold water and drain them.
  2. Transfer the chicken into a big bowl.
  3. Add 2 ts of salt, 1 ts of ground pepper, 2 eggs, and the mixture of ½ cup of flour and ½ cup of starch powder. Mix it by hand.
  4. Deep fry the chicken wings in vegetable oil 2 times at about 350-380 degrees (F).
Sauce for coating:

  1. Prepare a big wok or pan.
  2. Place 1 cup of water in the wok and heat it up.
  3. Slice 1 cup of ginger thinly after peeling the skin off and washing, and add it into the boiling water.
  4. Add 2 TBS of soy sauce, 1 cup of brown sugar, ¼ cup of vinegar and boil it over medium heat.
  5. 5 minutes after, add 1 cup of corn syrup and keep boiling over low medium heat about 30 minutes.
  6. Raise a spoon of the sizzling sauce above the wok in the air and drop it until the sauce begins stopping halfway. Then turn off the stove.
Mix it up:

  1. Reheat the sauce.
  2. Add the deep fried chicken, 1 cup of peanuts (or any kind of nuts), 1/2 TBS dried red hot chili pepper, and ½ cup of toasted sesame seeds into the sizzling sauce and mix it with a spatula. The amount of sticky sauce will decrease while you are stirring. Then turn off the heat and you are done!
Tip: Before the chicken cools down, you may have to separate each piece of chicken wings to prevent them from sticking to each other.

For spicy food lover:
You can sprinkle 2 TBS of dried and crushed red chili pepper instead of 1/2 TBS.

I was thinking of making this but it seems time consuming. How long did it take you? By the way the pictures looks scrumptious!

Mm, that looks quite delicious. =3 I know this may seem silly, but can you post up how you made it? Or is it just simply soup + noodles + assortment of random vegetables?

So those are the infamous Italian sandwiches! laugh.gif It looks really yummy but I would have carmelized the onion and bell pepper a little longer to make it sweeter. Oh, I would have added a little bit of sun dried tomatoes. BTW, did you grill or fry the sausage. From the pics, the ylooked as if they were fried.

A couple of days ago I made Sweet and Crispy Chicken

This is what it looks like after frying. (It tasted just as good without the sauce.)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q191/ltran20/P9200326.jpg

Fried the chicken twice for an extra crunchiness.

I followed a recipe from allrecipes.com laugh.gif

INGREDIENTS
1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 eggs, room temperature
1/3 cup margarine, melted (I substituted it with 75 g of olive oil) <-- Because I don't have enough margarine/butter -.-
4 1/2 cups bread flour (615 g) <--High Protein Flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar (100 g)
2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

1 cup brown sugar, packed (220 g)
2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup butter, softened (75g)

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS
Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle; press Start.
(For those who don't have a bread machine,( I did it by hand eventhough I have one. -.- It was hard work) Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk in a large bowl. Mix in the sugar, margarine, salt, and eggs. Add flour and mix well. Knead the dough into a large ball, using your hands dusted lightly with flour. Put in a bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

After the dough has doubled in size turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, cover and let rest for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

Roll dough into a 16x21 inch rectangle. Spread dough with 1/3 cup butter and sprinkle evenly with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls before serving.

Source: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Clone-of-a-Cinnabon/Detail.aspx

I didn't do the frosting. Too much work. I like my rolls just like that biggrin.gif

Enjoy doing the dough~ laugh.gif ( I lost most of my energy there XD)
maybe cause it's my first time

Meet Spotty:

Spotty was my creation in a cake decorating course I did recently.
She got dressed and all prettied up:

^___^
It was fun. First time decorating using fondant, and I think I'm addicted =)
