I have been away due to school buttt since i am back for the long weekend of thanksgiving i knew i had to bake something! my grandma went apple picking yesterday and came back with a bag of apples so i just used what i got and i made apple pie for the first time!

i used two seperate recipes and made some substitutions of my own and here it is!

in the oven
[img]http://i3.photobucke...ki/DSC01499.jpg

cooling
[img]http://i3.photobucke...ki/DSC01507.jpg

MmMMmMmm still cooling
[img]http://i3.photobucke...ki/DSC01513.jpg

oozy inside
[img]http://i3.photobucke...ki/DSC01522.jpg

i am officially over my fear of making pie crusts happy.gif

If you could post the recipe you remixed, or if not, the two original ones, that'd be sweet. I need to bring something for thanksgiving and that would be blush.gif

Aww, shucks. *scuffs toe* Unfortunately I'm very greedy and I want better quality -- my Canon IXUS65 just doesn't cut it anymore ): I want to be able to capture more detail. It's all good, though. Hopefully I'll get one when I go to Korea soon (:<
Hey, I've been secretly stalking your food. Do I get FedEx watcher cuisine too? : D

I believe you meant torture, mori-kun. Oh yeah, I should have taken a picture of the inside! You can sort of see a little red in the closeup; it was cooked medium by the way :3

The japanese cheesecake looks really delicious. It sort of reminds me of a souffle blush.gif The only thing that I think is missing from the brownies is a tall glass of cold milk to wash them down with. laugh.gif

haha... imma be in big trouble someday... having to ship out food everywhere tongue.gif

did you photoshop your pictures? they came out pretty clear to me. extra contrast too. it's usually dark in my living room, so i have to set a low aperture for my shots. it makes part of the pictures go out of focus. im too lazy to shoot with my tripod... i mean, i got a meal waiting in front of me!!

biiiig backup of food laugh.gif
I haven't posted in ages

Scrambled Eggs (huevos!!)
Was getting used to the ovens and stovetop at the new dorm...its a touchy little beast tongue2.gif

Cornish Hen
I only vaguely followed a recipe for this (mainly on the basis of getting the oven temp and cooking time right) then I tossed in whatever I could find in the fridge. I was glad to be back at home to make this, where I was used to the oven.
If you've never tried Cornish Hen before, you should! It has a delightful flavor and delicate texture.

Fried Dumplings
NY Soompiers probably know this already...but Deluxe Food Market and Jack's Dollar World have seriously saved my wallet. Bless!!

Garlic Naan
http://www.allrecipes.com/Recipe/Naan/Detail.aspx
I'm not quite up to the task of making some really good Indian food yet (I still have my numero uno go-to place for my chicken biryani cravings...) but I attempted some naan which turned out okay. The stuff is seriously addictive. You can snack on it plain, stuff it with meat/veggies, or top with sauce, cheese, and toppings and stick it in the oven (low heat 5 min) as a mini pizza.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
http://www.joyofbaking.com/ChocolateChipCookies.html

Cinnamon Pear Muffins
I took some time to caramalize and cook the pears first...definitely worth the extra effort

(con Butter Pecan ice cream wub.gif)
Note...when you find your muffins just starting to grow a bit stale and hard...chop them into inch cubes, melt a bit of butter in a saucepan and toss the muffin cubes on medium low heat for a bit, adding some honey/maple syrup to sweeten it up even more. You can also dredge them in egg first to make a sort of French toast, or serve scrambled eggs on the side.
Make every bit count!!

Okay, left work early today to come home and cook to make sure there's a home cooked meal waiting for the bf when he comes home. laugh.gif I was lazy so I made spaghetti with meat sauce. Picked up Little Caesar's crazy bread on the way home. It's sooo good!

I made house fried rice this past weekend. The bf wanted fried rice for tomorrow's lunch so I made simple fried rice with chinese sausage. Really instant, not my best but it's edible.

Okay, roasted chicken. I made it awhile back. Instead of roasting it, I cooked it in a dutch oven on the stove. It was so yummy and the bf ate it all. Excuse the ugly garnish. hehe laugh.gif
