Hey guys! I'm trying to learn how to cook this year. I made a few dishes sometime at the beginning of this year, but never really had a chance to upload them. They were really easy to make since all of them required baking at a set temperature for a specific amount of time. smile.gif Here they are: Baked Pork Chops w/ mushroomshttp://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z264/di.../porkchopsP.jpgBaked Salmon Dijon w/ Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms (I know, I know.... the salmon looks like vomit, but it was reaaaaallly good). Plus, Pat & Oscars breadsticks... Mmmmm... http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z264/di...ano/salmonP.jpgVegetarian Dinner (pasta w/ home-made pasta sauce, easy mushroom rice, and cream cheese stuffed mushrooms).http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z264/di...vegetarianP.jpg sweatingbullets.gif
It looks all delicious. Can you post the recipe for the baked salmon dijon with stuffed portobello mushrooms?

s1xt1n: yes, aonori is the same thing used for takoyaki. : ) mm, not sure how to ask in chinese, but you could probably find it in the nori/seaweed aisle of the store. sometimes it says "seaweed laver" or something along those lines. i hope that helped a bit. :x but if you can't find it, you can just buy shredded seaweed, or take a big sheet & crumble it up/cut it into small pieces. lol.

yujah52: sure! here are the recipes. most of the ingredients vary on what you like. : )

pesto pizza:

* i used the recipe from THIS BLOG, but used a different crust recipe.

crust:

INGREDIENTS

* 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
* 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
* 1 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS

1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and brown sugar in the water, and let sit for 10 minutes.
2. Stir the salt and oil into the yeast solution. Mix in 2 1/2 cups of the flour.
3. Turn dough out onto a clean, well floured surface, and knead in more flour until the dough is no longer sticky. Place the dough into a well oiled bowl, and cover with a cloth. Let the dough rise until double; this should take about 1 hour. Punch down the dough, and form a tight ball. Allow the dough to relax for a minute before rolling out. Use for your favorite pizza recipe.
4. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). If you are baking the dough on a pizza stone, you may place your toppings on the dough, and bake immediately. If you are baking your pizza in a pan, lightly oil the pan, and let the dough rise for 15 or 20 minutes before topping and baking it.
5. Bake pizza in preheated oven, until the cheese and crust are golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.

okonomiyaki:

INGREDIENTS (4 servings)

* 3 1/2 oz - pork belly, thinly sliced
* 3 1/2 oz - squid (body only)
* 7 oz - cabbage
* 4 scallions
* 2 Tbsp red pickled ginger, finely chopped
* Batter
---- 5 1/4 oz - flour
---- 5 oz - water
---- 2 4/5 oz - grated mountain yam (nagaimo)
---- 4 eggs
---- 1/2 tsp salt
* vegetable oil
* Topping
---- okonomiyaki sauce
---- dried bonito powder (katsuobushi)
---- aonori (green seaweed) flakes
---- mayonnaise

DIRECTIONS

1. Cut pork into 3-inch pieces, slice squid into thin strips, mince cabbage and scallions coarsely.
2. Using a whisk, make batter, combining flour, water, grated mountain yam, and salt. Add beaten eggs, stir lightly.
3. Add squid, cabbage, scallions, and mix well.
4. Divide all ingredients into 4 portions. Oil griddle (or a frying pan). Saute pork briefly and pour batter over, then sprinkle with pickled ginger. When the surface bubbles and the bottom is golden brown, turn over and brown the other side.
5. Brush with okonomiyaki sauce, sprinkle with bonito powder and aonori flakes. Serve with mayonnaise to taste.

* Ingredients may vary. Cook any meat, seafood, vegetables with the batter "as you like it."
