Please don't yell at me for making a thread on this, because everywhere else my questions were not being answered.

Anyway, my mom really wants this phone and I've looked at the gsm version but it doesn't have the menu in korean language. So I'm opting for just buying one from korea and getting it to work in the US.

This means I will only get to use it with Verizon, right? Is it like the Sky phones where if you text, you can only see who it's from if you're with verizon? Also, will SMS/mp3 funcitons work?

i think you can get the person to install korean language into the gsm phone...mine has chinese, indonesia, vietnam, and another weird language installed...but do try asking..
i'm not really positive but i do heard that you can't text using a cdma phone from another country..the mp3 should work

i have a question too, if u get the gsm unlocked version..will it work at cingular??

^ yes. like said many times before, if you have a unlocked gsm phone it will work for ANY gsm provider.

Hello everyone.

I am selling this phone in the selling and trading thread. Stellabella, I don't think the Korea CMDA version will work here in the US, just get the GSM and get the korean language downloaded into it. I think that is possible.

Although very little information is available from the FCC filings, Phone Scoop has learned that the LG VX8500 for Verizon will be a version of the Chocolate phone that has taken South Korea, and now Europe, by storm. The VX8500 still features the same slim sliding form as the original Chocolate, but the hidden D-pad keys on the original have been replaced with actual D-pad that integrates media playback controls. Features include a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Micro SD card slot, EV-DO high speed data and stereo Bluetooth (A2DP). The VX8500 also features a new version of the Verizon interface with on-screen menus for the side keys. The American Chocolate has not been announced yet, so no release date is known.

There's no memory slot...and the camera is only 1.3 MP.
But it looks HOTT. The biznatch in Smile Again has the white one.
I think I'll get this in Christmas or something..
Even then no one will have the phone here ;P

yes works with verizon only if you buy it at SK telecom.
just know that you'll need reaaaal deeeep pockets.
