windows media player

my media player won't play any files at all

error is - You've encountered error message C00D11B1 while using Windows Media Player

and i went through all the instructions and everything was normal

i even tried updating it and i also downloaded windows media player 11

if nothing can be done, is there any other media players available?

help really appreciated...thanx

Good job on finding information on that error. I couldn't find much information on it >_<
So it does this with everything you try to play?

Eh, it just happened right? Sometimes... sometimes... a system restore can fix this but if the restore point is too old that won't be cool either.

Maybe you should consider getting videolan or media player classic to play those videos and foobar2000 or winamp to play your music.

System Restore is basically restoring your computer to an earlier point.

go to Start Menu > Accesories > System Tools > System restore

Yeah, it restores exe and dll files set at a certian point. Its great for spyware because they are often simple and a system restore will classify those files as new and remove them, and put back what was changed.

It will not bring back files, it will not remove your files (I know jpg, doc, and zip files for sure don't get effected by it)
