What music did you hear? The DEG fanbase is pretty much severed bewteen fans who love their old music and fans who prefer their new music. I'm a fan of their old music and I can't stand their latest style.

It's not there music that turned me off.
It's something they did that pissed me off.

And Eyeless Sentiery keep your negative comments to yourself.

^Sometimes that's all it takes.
When they made that comment about Marilyn Manson I felt it was very hypocritical and I got a cocky vibe from them.
They look good and have great style, but they left a bad taste for me.

Anywho
Marilyn Manson is badass for real.
He is just him, lol that sounds wierd but what else can I say smile.gif
I love that Tainted Love song it is so nice.

It's a public forum. I'm allowed to voice an opinion to piss you off. The threadstarter simply stated "everyone has an opinion on marilyn manson , and i want to know what yours is". I think he's a faggotous mainstream cancer... a tumor on the ass of credibility and makes me want to cut myself in a few places. Mostly the ears.

Serious musicians don't need to use gimmicks to promote their music. Take any underground death or prog metal bands for example (unless you consider having long hair a gimmick).

^You did not have to be so harsh and call him a kool-aidgot because that is a very offensive term, not only to him but to other people.
How do you know he's a kool-aid???

Nobody in this world is a f.a.g. because a f.a.g. is a cigarette. How it became a term for gay men, I will never know.

Oh please, keep killing the word. It seriously needs to be tired and used so that it will go out of the American vocabulary.

wow , that was weird .

it's sad that people who so denounce the use of "gimmicks" are so quick to pick up on the use of them .

meanwhile , how many underground death metal bands are there that have managed to reach the mainstream ? everyone successful in entertainment has a gimmick . manson is a significant force in the world of entertainment - he has novels , is making a film , has performed with countless other popular artists , has been interviewed on mainstream news and tv programs , and has been the feature of a bunch of protests and docos , because of the SIGNIFICANT IMPACT he has on so many people . i don't know many "long haired people" have done the same , indicating just how important a gimmick is in gaining mass appeal . if he maintained the long haired make up-less image he had in the early 90s , he wouldn't be anywhere near where he is today .

and i did ask what people think , because i do want to know . by all means tell me what you think , but don't be rude about it .

I like some of his music,

Eyeless Sentry ... You're wasting you own time by coming back onto here to reply to people yelling at you for "Expressing" your opinion (Which could have been put in a better way)...

What about Led Zeppelin? What about Pink Floyd? Those two bands have impacted music in ways which are undescribable without the use of gimmicks.

You're exactly right. But naturally I care enough to come back to upset these ever so sensitive glam freaks.
