Due to complications, there will be no themes in the final rounds. As long as it is a new, FULL-length clip, it can be turned in for the final rounds.
All posts with no links will be ignored by the registration department. Don't worry about the limited spots. If the need be, the limit will be increased to fit every participant. THEREFORE, DO NOT POST WITHOUT AN ACTUAL SONG LINK!
Prospective schedule of SI4 (singing section) is posted towards the end of this post.

Summer has finally arrived at Soompi and so has the time for the return of our annual Soompi Idol. Due to personal reasons, JohnnyMoon, our host for the previous Soompi Idols, cannot host this year's contest. I will be hosting in his place.
I see a lot of newcomers to this forum, and I'm not going to discriminate against the newbies, but please don't sign up if you are not willing to follow the rules and the deadlines. Please don't sign up if you are not reliable, trustworthy, nor hardworking.

For the singers:
This may be a lengthy read, but I advise you to read it.
The rules are simple.
1. I strongly advise that your clip be a full song. However, the minimum length of a clip is 2 minutes.
2. The singing clips can be new (never posted before) OR old (already posted), though newer clips are always more fun to hear.
3. The instrumental (background music) should be as clean as possible. Because I am fully aware that instrumentals are hard to find, ripped vocal cuts are OKAY. Singing over the actual song is strongly not recommended. We want to hear YOU, not Boa.
4. If you cannot find ANY source of instrumental, you may sing accapella, but I strongly advise you not to. The loss is yours, unless you are adept at keeping the right key.
5. The clip should be in mp3 file, NOT wav.
6. Please don't steal other people's clips and claim they're yours.
7. Collabs are also acceptable, but not recommended. This is why. If a collab makes it to the final rounds, the group must make a new collab according to the respective themes. It's hard to get the same people again and go through the dividing and mixing. However, if you REALLY want to turn in a collab clip, just make sure that you include all the names of those who sang.
8. You may enter BOTH the dancing and the singing competition. Just don't overwork yourself.

July 24-27: Group G & Group H
- Each group will consist of 4 to 8 competitors, depending on the total number. I'm trying to offer everyone a space. If you do the math, the maximum limit is 64.
- From each group, the top half will advance.
- They can use posted or new clips.
Round 2
July 28-31: Group A & Group B
August 1-4: Group C & Group D
- From each group, the top half will advance.
- They can use posted or new clips.
Round 3 Semi-Final
August 5-8: Group A & Group B
- From each group, the top half will advance.
- Must be a full, new song. You can record in advance if you think you have a good chance standing. There are no themes!
Round 4 Final
August 9-12: Finalists
- From this group, there will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
- Must be a full, new song. You can record in advance if you think you have a good chance standing. There are no themes!
