The Killers Frontman Is Disgusted by Emo Bands
The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has hit out at America's hunger for pop punk bands, insisting he wants to beat them all to death. The singer has also reignited his feud with Fall Out Boy, even though he has never met the rockers. Flowers warns British music fans to be wary of the 'Emo' movement, insisting it will sweep the nation and change the teenage generation forever.
He says, "You don't realise what you could be getting yourselves into, with Fall Out Boy, and what kind of impact it could have in a way that you don't really want. Culturally, if it gets as big as it is in America, it could change an entire generation of people growing up here. Emo, pop-punk, whatever you want to call it, is dangerous.
"We don't wanna dislike anyone, and we've still never met Fall Out Boy, but there's a creature inside me that wants to beat all those bands to death. They just all go into the happy emo funnel and everyone loves 'em without thinking."

Blah. +_+ i don't even think people even care about the Killers anymore since like last summer when they were all the rage. Flowers just seems to be a little pissy that they're not as popular anymore and that someone from fall out boy made comments about him? haha but i agree that Fall out boy sucks and the emo bands are ehhh. The thing about emo bands being an epidemic is sorta out there though but then again maybe not. shrugs

The whole Spears / Aguilerra / BSB / Nsync movement was more refreshing than what's been going in with pop culture as of late.

but i don't entirely agree with brandon flowers. like, i wouldn't call the emo 'epidemic' as "dangerous" like he did. i'd call it lame, pathetic, etc
but if whatever he does helps to stop the spreading of this whole emo thing (which i doubt but anyway) then good
edit: LOL @ the number one definition for 'emo' on urbandictionary
and i totally agree.

what is it then
to be honest, i don’t know much about punk except that it originated from the 70’s and in my opinion (and many others), is dead now. i couldn’t name many punk rock bands except maybe the ramones? well whatever, even though i never really listen to punk rock i know that it definitely isn’t emo. when people say that emo ‘diverged’ from punk, i think it's just a nice way of putting it and what it really means is that the emo genre butchered punk and is a s.hitty version of punk as a result of people’s attempt to create something new (which happens to suck ass) and be different, etc. by deviating from it. WELL. emo shouldn’t even be associated with punk since if there is any similarity with it, it is ZILLIONTH-rate and just poor in comparison
yeah, i detest emo music but the reason i'm totally defending punk rock is because of some people's association of emo with punk (like, punk rock, that's it) and omg, possibly believing that punk is emo
and yes, i pathetically feel offended by anyone who thinks that. imagine the punk rock fans out there? hahaha. or maybe it's just me
no offense to any emo fans out there

Has anyone even been to one of their shows? It only takes ONE show to turn you against them. They're absolutely dreadful as entertainers and have about 9 songs to offer for a headlining band. Absolutely dispicable. I mean even Fall Out Boy has 2 albums out? They're more credible than The Killers.
I also really want to punch their guitarist. That moron started throwing the deli tray at the crowd after they finished their set.
