I came across this thread and there's a question that I wanted to ask because I have no idea why my period hasn't come yet. I first got it in sixth grade and it was coming normally like once a month but now I'm in the 11th grade and I never get it now! I didn't have sex. But the last time I got it, it only lasted a day? I already told this to my doctor when I had a check up but he didn't really asy anything about it. I think it was because he was too old and didn't care but is it a serious problem? A lot of girls don't. It's normal for skin in and around the vagina to be a few shades darker than the rest of your body. I can't tell you why because I'm not a doctor nor do I want to be, but after lots of reading, I've learned that it's very natural.

If I remember correctly it's because your vagina is tight and your streching it out so it hurts until it's streched enough to fit the mans penis. If you go for a month or two maybe even less without having sex it will go back to being tight so when you have sex again it will feel like the first time and hurt.

I don't think that is normal, 11th grade is 16 or 17. I could understand your period being irregular, but something could be wrong, I'd go to an OBGYN since they specialize in that stuff, they could tell you more about what is going on and give you a clear answer. That's what I'd suggest to do.

Deep, it could also be that your gaining weight. Gaining weight is a big impact on your periods. I notice that I didn’t have my period for 4 months and was a little worried, so I went to see my OBGYN and she suggested that I lose a little bit of weight. After 10 lbs or so sure enough my period came. If it’s not the weight it can also be stress. Stress can also cause your menstrual system to not work right.

Do you ladies get UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) frequently or ever had it? How were you treaTed? Did it just simply go away or what?

Just recently, I've been getting recurring UTI and it hurts like heck. I drink plenty of water to reduce the pain and then when I have sex, it hurts all over again. Also does anyone know if a regular doctor...say a clinical doctor can test for UTI? I currently don't have insurance so I would prefer to go to a clinic.

Also ladies...good hygiene is a key to keeping UTI from happening over and over....from what i've read about it.
