Bleh, I might as well ask. Well, I haven't had my period in a VERY long time, I'm talking years. I was overweight when I first got my period and it was irregular, but ever since I fell into my healthy weight range my period hasn't shown up at all (I'm not underweight either btw). I think the last time I had my period was in 2003 or so. I've mentioned it to my dad every now and then, but he dismisses it because I'm young as he says -- I'm 19 now. Since 2003 I have had checkups and I always tell them when they ask about it, that I haven't had my period for so and so weeks, months, years, etc. but they show absolutely no concern about it so it reassured me that nothing was wrong. But now it's starting to worry me and I'm setting up an appointment with my doctor about it exclusively, but I thought I might as well ask about it here too while I'm at it.

I eat pretty healthy (Korean food ftw), exercise, and...well, yeah. It's starting to make me worry that I may be infertile or something. sweatingbullets.gif

If somebody thinks they're a hedgehog, presumably you just give 'em a mirror and a few pictures of hedgehogs and tell them to sort it out for themselves.

It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it... anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

^ Judging from your 411 pictures, I think you're flat chested because you are underweight. Boobs are essentially fat

So boobs are basically made of fat?

If you are that flat chested, you might not even have to wear a bra. They do make AA and AAA size bras though, which are the smallest cup sizes I think. It just might be harder to find. And if you're underweight, that's probably why your periods are so irregular. You probably won't be flat chested forever. One of my friends, who is also 5'7", was always REALLY skinny. But after she graduated college she started gaining a little more weight and her chest size definitely changed. So, it's possible-- just takes a lot of time (don't expect it to happen overnight). And in regards to your boobs, I'm not sure. Mine are not lumpy at all. I have no clue what is normal actually. But if you are seeing your doctor regularly every year for a physical, they should do a breast exam at that time anyway so you'd know if it was normal or not.

Well if you were to ask me to wear an AA bra then I would be able to fit but I can't fit into an A bra. Thanks for telling me about your friend's story, makes me feel better. I don't want to be so flat chested forever >< I'm too embarassed to ask my doctor T__T .. Oh well, I think the lumps are just cysts ? They're not harmful right ? mellow.gif

Is that normal though? EVERYONE'S had physical exams, but the doctors NEVER touched me down there when I was that young... I don't think I know anyone who had to do that...

honestly.. get another doctor. because ive never had a doctor touch me down there when i was that young.. even now and im 18.. so .... oh but if your mom or someone was in there with her then i think she would be okay.. cause they're not supposed to have children alone in the room with just the doctor... its illegal im pretty sure.

She never touched me....but my little sister said she did (and yes, my mom was in the room). And that's why I got scared because I've never heard of anyone getting touched down there when they got a physical. And I asked her, if she's gonna do anything down there for my next physical in a month and she said no. So......*shrug*

Anyway, justxlouise, fortunately, I know EXACTLY what you mean by "lumpy". Because when I started growing boobs, there's a little lump in them that becomes bigger and bigger (on both boobs) and that's what makes them grow. I think that's what you're talking about. So you have nothing to worry about. But if I'm wrong and the "lumps" I described are not what you have...then I think you should tell someone. A lot of girls are flat chested....wear padded bras, they really help. Plus, boobs are annoying. They jiggle when I walk up and down the stairs. Haha.

I went to this site, and under stage 2 it says "Breast bud stage. Milk ducts and fat tissue form a small mound." I think the "mound" is what you're talking about. Like, when you feel around your breast, you know there's a "lump" there....but it's actually the inside of the breast growing larger.

As for sangsang, my period used to skip a month for some reason, so I'd get it every two months instead of one. I'd always go to my mom and tell her, I even told my grandma who used to be a nurse. They said there's nothing to worry about, too. So I don't know what to think....I'm assuming you have nothing to worry about either. I know people (females of course) that haven't gotten theirs in years and they seem alright to me. I don't think it's as bad as people make it seem when they don't get their period in a long time, because everyone assumes "there's something wrong with them". Here's my idea: everyone's different. We're not all gonna get our periods at exactly 28 days after the last one.

Nonetheless, tell us what your doctor says. Good luck. smile.gif

^^ I hope I have nothing to worry about and it's just paranoia, but in case it isn't...well, I'll be sure to tell you guys afterwards. I'll be seeing my doctor sometime next week though.

And yea, boobs are annoying especially when having to wear bras. LOL! I hate that jiggling feeling when I walk, but I hate wearing bras even more. w00t.gif

About the physicals, uh...my doctor has never felt me up down there or looked. o_O

And xwinnietrann_ I have monkey legs of doom, too. LMAO! Got that from my dad's side sadly. Anyway I use Nair and it works pretty well. It makes them nice and smooth although it does have a strong smell, but it's worth it. laugh.gif

Well, I hope she only looked just for the "skin problem". lol

And yeah, bras are extremely annoying. I sleep with a bra on because I'm too lazy to take it off and it irritates my boobs. When I wake up in the morning I have bra marks on my chest because I slept on it weirdly.

As for the hairy legs problem, join the club. I actually shave though...but I get it from my dad too (OMG, he's SO hairy you have NO idea), and ONE day after I've shaved, my legs get very prickly. fury.gif

^ sweet, I have a question about tampons too!!

For some reason, when I "push" in the tampon (after inserting the applicator), it feels a little sore/weird going into my body. It doesn't hurt (per se), but it's a bit uncomfortable. But once the tampon is in and applicator removed, everything feels fine. Is this normal? I read, somewhere, that this is probably just because my muscles aren't used to having a tampon (even though I wore them on and off for about 2 years... and yes, I get the strange 'sore' feeling every time).

i think you should practice putting a tampon in before you go camping just so you can get the hang of it. make sure you read the instructions carefully and know that you're at risk for toxic shock syndrome, but if you change your tampon every 4-8 hours, you'll be fine. just remember to relax! there's nothing to worry about! it doesn't hurt and it's so much more comfortable than wearing a pad. you'll never wanna switch back.

yeah, i get that feeling too when i'm "pushing" the tampon in. i think it's just because you can feel something going inside of you and it's kind of "stretching" there? lol, that sounds really nasty. don't worry, i'm sure it's perfectly normal. (:

If you just started taking the BC pills your body is still adjusting to the levels of hormones. The BC pills basically 'trick' your body into thinking it's pregnant, so that's why you get symptoms like swollen, sore boobies...I know it happened to me during my first month but after I got my period for that month it stopped...

Is it really that bad to sleep with a tampon?

I sleep in them... it's much easier to move around while sleeping and nothing leaks out.

You guys are saying that you use tampons during the day but sleep in pads at night.

Right before I go to sleep, I'll put a super in. I sleep for about six hours, wake up, and take it out before I shower. (Most of the time I wake up during the night on my own and change if it's not a super.)

I did that last night and everything is fine for me...

Hey there fellow soompiers,

I haven't been on much because lately, I've been going through a lot of changing factors; such as dealing with a new lifestyle, my job and education, my boyfriend and family. But here's the reason why I've posted this topic:
I was expecting my period on June 1st, but it has been delayed and I still don't have it yet. My last period was May 1st, but it was delayed a few days from the previous month, which was supposed to be around April 26th.

I am fairly worried, because I know that if your menstrual cycle is irregular, it's your body's way of signalling that something is quite possibly wrong. I am sexually active, so I was tested a few days ago for any signs of pregnancy at a clinic. Test results came out negative.

So I was wondering, what are the contributing factors to a delayed period? And how long can stress be the factor that's causing the delays?

Thanks in advance, because my life is so hectic, I don't know what else to do.

dont worry, its normal. it also makes me all weird too when i leak, and the tampon absorbs it. its like you can feel the tampon absorbing it. crazy.gif

I have a question. When you're on your period, are you able lose/gain weight? This been bugging me
ever since my cousin said to me 'Since I'm on my period, I'm going to eat what I want since I won't gain weight'
I don't think it's true, but I'm just making sure. Since I've been working my butt off and I'm on my period
and I don't know if you'll be able to lose weight. I sound stupid, haha.
