on a side note for anyone in the uk:
In the United Kingdom, a large grocery store chain by the name of Tesco plans to hand out the pills for free as part of an effort to reduce the number of teen pregnancies.
haha stole that of the cbc website

their painkillers dont work.

You guys know those blobs of mucus-y blood that come out when menstruating (especially during the first day)?
What will happen to them if using a tampon? Are the blobs just gonna stay in there? Because I'm pretty sure tampons can't absorb them, since they're solid crazy.gif

lol, thats something ive actually never though about before..but doesnt seem like a big deal to me.

i usually wear tighter panties so that the pad doesn't slip around and such. i also try to get pads that are longer with better wing support. Oh, and i sometimes use like an old blankie or whatever and put that on top of my bed sheets where i usually sleep. its much easier cleaning that than my whole sets of bedsheets and i wont get my mattress stained

I'm sure there are heavy flow types or the night-time pads that are longer which you could use when you are sleeping.
For ensuring tightness, maybe wear two layers of underwear.

I scrolled back 10 pages and then randomly clicked on other pages and didn't spot this question:

Has anyone seen a male gyno?

I like the one I used to see but her extreme lateness and loooong waiting list to get an appt really pisses me off. Plus since I switched jobs, her location has become inconvenient. I'm looking through my new insurance directory and the only gynos who accept my insurance and have offices within a reasonable distance from me are all MALE. Another plus is that I've heard male gynos have a shorter wait time than female gynos..but the con is that they're MALE. I'm uncomfortable enough with getting a pelvic exam from my female gyno, so I know I'd be extremely uncomfortable with a male doc being..err down there. But for convenience's sake, it might have to be an option...the handful of my friends who go to a gyno all go to female ones (they don't accept my insurance, boo) so I have no real feedback =T

*****no one seems to be answering my question -____- ..

after you girls shave your bikini line, what kind of moisturizer/lotion do you use?
is it okay to use baby powder, too?

i bought the aveeno (daily moisturizing) lotion but i'm not sure if it'll be okay to use that on my bikini line.

j'adore.

i think when you take the tampon out, and pee, it releases them into the toilet..
with pads that happens too
i dont think there's any way that it stays in there..it has to come out ....

Uh.. I don't shave, I trim..
but my friends and cousins use w/e lotion they can find for it. o.O
haha IDK if this helps, but I guess Aveeno's okay.

I'm going to a waterpark (HURRICANE HARBOR) tomorrow, but I have my period.. :[
And I'm not allowed to use tampons/don't want to use them..
and my friends said to use a light pad, wear shorts, etc. o _ o
What I'm worried about is if I will get infected?
Cause that's what I heard.. since the water at waterparks aren't exactly too clean. :[

I've seen a male gyno and it was fine. He's seen thousands of vaginas in his line of work so it really doesn't faze him. I was surprised that I was as cool with is as I was but it was really fine. He explained everything well and it was a short exam, uncomfortable but short.

That definitely sounds like a bad idea if you're planning on going into the water. The pad, however light, will absorb water and this is just a thought but it might wash out blood from the pad itself to stain your shorts. I'm not sure about the infection question because all of that chlorine in the water should kill everything.

hii ^^
my breasts have been really sore lately.
for about the past week, and it's getting really uncomfortabe.
since they're still developing, they get sore when pushed down
or something but recently, they've been getting sore with any kind of activity such
as walking, going down the stairs, lying sideways, touching, washing, etc.
i've told my stepmom about it a couple of time and she just keeps telling me
it's probably because i'll be getting my period soon.
but, i still haven't gotten it yet...
it'll only be my 4th period so it's still irregular.
but i'm wondering if my stepmom's right, or should i get it checked out?

I've seen a few male gyno too ... quick, simple, to the point and painless. They seem more interesting because you don't really get a male gyno, LOL, haha. Truthfully, whether or not the gyno is male or female doesn't matter since both men and women can molest you... ph34r.gif

I think the voice becomes slightly lower. I'm sure you don't sound the same as you were when you were five compared to now.

Okay, I know there's not supposed to be sexually explicit topics so I'll keep it simple... but I feel like I need to ask... I feel so paranoid, I really hope it's just my paranoia messing with my mind.
And I know there are soooo many factors that could effect this, but like... what are the odds of a girl getting pregnant if she and her bf give eachother a hand job at the same time?
I've never had sexual intercourse, but THAT has happened... And the thing is, my period is so irregular as it is, I don't even know if I've missed or not. I feel like I should have gotten it by now, but it's a gut feeling that I should have gotten it, and I can't tell if I'm overreacting or not. I really just need some reassurance... And if it helps I don't THINK I got anything on me during the um activity... but do these things HAPPEN, like getting pregnant that way? It's been bothering me for a few weeks now... I hope I'm just paranoid (I feel so stupid T_T;;; ) but I just keep thinking WHAT IF.

Can eating habits affect your period (as in the flow, length, etc.)?

I just came back from vacation less than a week ago and during the vacation I didn't eat all too healthy.. with the restaurants, buffets, fast food and what not .__. And when I got back home, I was back to eating littler homemade meals. Then I got my period yesterday morning and I noticed my flow was a LOT heavier than usual (it is usually a very light flow) and.. I can't tell you how long it is since it's only my second day. My period usually lasts 3-4 days. It doesn't bother me too much, but I was just wondering why my period went from light to.. kapow. The good thing though is I actually don't have cramps this month though w00t.gif

Its okay to feel paranoid, but no there's no chance of getting pregnant,
because there is no sperm contact to your vagina, right?
The reason for your period not coming exactly on time could be that because of that it might be affected.
For me, everything effects my period, how much I exercise, sleep, etc.
There could be plenty of reasons for it being slightly irregular.
I wouldn't worry if I were you^^

Thank you for your reply!!
I forgot to ask before in my first post.
Well I don't know if this happened to me, but I was thinking about it. What if some sperm got on a guy's hand, and that in turn came into contact with the girl? Is it possible for her to get pregnant that way? I thought someone said a page or two back that if the sperm comes in contact with oxygen for too long then it dies, can't fertilize an egg anymore. How long does it take before it dies?

And one last question, you said my period might be affected, do you mean from being sexually active? Even though I haven't had intercourse, could it be affected by other types of sexual activity?

Usually I'm good with knowing this stuff, but it's different when you're the one needing the advice, I think of things I never would I have thought of before and then sometimes I worry. So I feel pretty naive right now. o_o

^okay, so i just googled it. and here's what i got.

sperm doesn't die immediately with air contact

QUOTE
Tiny asks:

I heard that sperm die the second they hit oxygen. if that's so, how could you get pregnant during dry sex?

David replies:

Air definitely won't kill sperm in seconds! In fact, when you get a sperm test the lab you ejaculate into an open container and then the technicians let it sit for thirty minutes because it's easier to see moving sperm cells than it would be if they looked right away. (See sperm tests explained here or here.)

Bottom line: wet semen can still contain live sperm outside the body for *at least* half an hour.

Thanks, Tiny.

QUOTE
No, sperm do not die when they hit the air. This is a common myth!

Sperm can usually live up to seven days when they're in the cervical mucus of a woman's vagina. However, when they're not being nourished and protected by cervical mucus, vaginal secretions, the warmth and moisture of a man's urethra and reproductive tract, or other warm and moist conditions, they die anywhere between a half an hour to four hours.

If you've touched semen, it's a good idea to wash your hands, or at least wipe them off before touching the vulva or vagina.

but about your period, you're stressing out. stress = delayed period
chances are, you're just overreacting and you're not pregnant! so, try not to worry and you'll period will come.
