I'm new to this thread. ^^;; Ahahaha... Actually, I went through all 38 pages before replying because I didn't want to ask something that was already asked before. ^^;;

Ooh. I'd like to try tampons, but they don't sell tampons in the Philippines. :x Well, they do, but they're hella expensive and you can only find them at specialty stores (like Watson's, I think?). sad.gif And they don't sell tampons here because people here think that you'll lose your virginity when you use tampons. I know it's so NOT true... -.-;; But people here have really warped views on sex and virginity. ._.

Okay, back to my question. ^^;; Erm, I weigh 99 lbs. and I'm 5'5" (I'm 17). There's a bunch of people who think I'm anorexic, so I started eating a lot. Like, a LOT. Sometimes I'd eat like 6 times a day. Or 7. :x When I did that, I gained 4 lbs in a month. But when I went back to my regular eating habits (3-4 meals a day), I went back to my original weight of 99 lbs. Then I noticed that these dark hairs started growing all over my back and stomach and arms. T_T Plus, my period started going irregular. Doesn't that come out in anorexic people? I'm not anorexic! T_T But I think my body thinks it's anorexic. -__-;; I think I just have a really fast metabolism, because I eat regularly and don't gain weight. T_T

But I'm getting sick of eating 6-7 times a day because... Gah. Sometimes I don't have the time to eat that many times a day because of school and stuff. ._.;;

Is there any way to make your metabolism go slower or something? o_O

And I've been thinking of getting on the pill to regulate my period because my period has never been regular ever since it started when I was 14. Sometimes I wouldn't get it for 3-4 months. I tried talking to my mother about this, but she says it's unnecessary. I can't go to my family doctor because he's going to tell my mother (he's a family friend). And I don't know any gynecologists. I'm scared to go to one all by myself, because I'm just 17 (not legal age yet) and it's not like I have the money to pay her or something. T_T;; I don't want to take the pill without a prescription because, well, it's a drug and you're supposed to get a prescription for it. o_O But over here where I live, you can buy the Pill without a prescription. I had to buy some once, for my speech on contraceptives for school. ^^;;

Argh. It sucks to live in a place where people have really weird views on sex and contraceptives and the reproductive systems. -__-;; I'm a Nursing student (incoming junior ^^) but even my own classmates are so clueless about this. I mean, they go and have unprotected sex... I tell them to use condoms or go on the Pill and they just give me funny looks. Then they get pregnant and end up dropping out of school. ._.

Ehehe... Sorry for the long post. ^^;; I just felt like venting, and this is the only place where I think I'd be understood... ^^;; My friends are just so freakin' clueless. ._. I just happened to have a midwife for a grandmother, so I kinda grew up with this stuff. ^^ I'm pretty open when it comes to talking about stuff like this, but my friends aren't. sad.gif

I totally understand...and dont ever let your classmates think that you're crazy or anything, because you're right.

as for your anorexia thing, as long as you're not starving yourself on purpose, you dont have anorexia, as long as you are eating and listening to when your body is hungry and you EAT when you're hungry, you have healthy eating habits, because if 3-4 meals a day keeps you at your regular body weight, that's fine. if anyone tells you that you look anorexic (but you do sound skinny happy.gif), they're either jealous or they're just joking (cause come on, you do eat in front of them right? they see you eating right?).

for the doctor and the pills thing, yeah, you can definitely get pills for your irregular bleeding, but what's the problem? you said that you can buy pills without prescription right? does your country have laws about keeping patient information confidential (for example, your doctor cannot tell your mom that you're taking birth control pills)? if not, i just suggest you go and buy your own, cause most girls do that here (and they dont tell their parents).

I'm so proud, now dont you think tampons>pads?

now we gotta get the 23598230 other girls in here to try them...lol.

hahahah yea i knowwww
i get irritated for some weird reason by ppl who don`t use it.
for one i get really BAD cramps (i fainted once from the pain and ended up in the hospital)
when i started using tampons it was not as messy as using pads
cramp pains LESSENED for some odd reason
and sometime i forget i`m on my period that`s how comfortable they are.
i also had a hard time at first putting them in but after a few times it`s easy.

hey weird question but sometimes my boob hurts or just the nipple part =/
what`s up with that??????????

Hey umm.. I need some reassurance ><!!!

Okay.. so i had my boyfriend over last night. And as stupid as I feel saying this: i was kind of sitting on his lap (facing him), and we were both wearing jeans etc. I was just wondering if it is possible to get pregnant if he ejaculated. Okay, theoretically I shouldn't be but I'm still worried. ><!!! And to make matters worse my stomach hurts today.. adding to my paranoia. I know this must sound the dumbest question on earth to you guys but I need some reassurance and people who know about the topic to reply. Thanks heaps. <3

If you both were wearing Jeans and underwear you have nothing to be worried about because those little guys aren't that strong to push throw all of that clothing. But if you do get anymore sexually active make sure to talk about contraception beforehand...at least have a condom at hand just in case.

Have you been stressing? Abnormal periods can be traced back to a lot of things, and sometimes it can be stress. But if it doesn't come within 3-4months I'd say go to a doctor. My Human Sexuality professor says it's not good to not have a period for more than 3months because the endometrium lining of the uterus gets really thick and can cause complications later in life when you want to have kids.

Yeah I always get the "satin" tampons or whatever. Much easier to put in.

Anyways. Yeah my boob/nipple area hurts before I get my period, so I can always tell when I'm close. Lol.

Hello, I'm new here. I never really knew there was a thread for girls, Which i'm gladly happy there is one ^^;

Okay, so my question is about my period i had last feb 28th. After 1 month later..my period started to continue to come (and that wasted 7 pads). I had to change 2 times at 1 day, I couldn't get a sleep..because i was afraid it might get all over my blanket and all. But my mom told me, "Don't worry about it too much, It's really nothing..if you worry it about it, You'll get stressed. If you get stressed while your period starts, It's not good, So don't worry about it. Just go to the bathroom every 30 minutes and check.", But i couldn't stop worrying, Although i tried to. T_T

The pad i was wearing was flat, thin, and pretty useable but blood comes out alottt at once and it gets all over my pad and next my pants. No, I didn't wear it upside down or flip flop. It never stoped for 2/3 months, I was feeling so weak and tired i can barley eat or stand up at mornings. I remember my mom saying period starts every 7 weeks, Is it true? Because i'm so scared to have period, although it's a absolute thing that girls are suppose to have. But i'm just a young 11 year old girl whom got her period at such young age, so i'm really scared T_T.

I know, i know. I'm not really asking for help, But i guess someone will clear things up for me. Gah, and yeah..i started to have boobs when i was 9, and its pretty big..always stick out when i wear t-shirt, always bugging me haha >_<.

and i always hurt my boobs on my desk/table or while playing ball with freinds and my sister/brother, It really really really hurts. I must be more careful later. <__<;

wow, you got your period at an early age. i didn't get mine until 13 i believe...anywas....you should listen to your mom. If you're wearing your pad properly then it won't easily leak. I was scared of leaking in bed before too, but it's realy not that bad. It actually hasn't happened yet. Anywas, if you're flow is heavy, then try a thicker pad. When you sleep...avoid spreading your legs so wide and what not. (some people are crazy sleepers) you'll be fine if you sleep on your side with your legs closed..thats how i sleep. You dont need to go check every 30 minutes....thats a bit much to me..haha..maybe you should bathe, and change to a clean pad before going to sleep. That way you won't feel "gross", sticky, and stressed out. Your period will stop for a little bit after you're shower, atleast from what i experience. Hope that helps..

you'll eventually get use to it

^ ooh, I always spread my legs really awkwardly when i sleep haha. No wonder why the blood always leaks through my pants/pjs. A thicker pad? thick pads are always so rough and uncomfortable to wear. But yeah, i should wear thicker pads. Gladly, My period stoped somewhere around march. So right now i don't need to worry, But i have a feeling my period would start anytime.. sleep.gif Thank you anyways! :]

At night, I use the LONG pads which are also thicker. It's for heavier flow and also makes sure that nothing will leak out. I move around a lot when I sleep, but these work pretty well. smile.gif

^there is such a thing as menstrual panties...i have a bunch from korea (and i think a lot of ktown places sell them too)...

...they prevent leakage because it has some sort of plastic lining underneath a sheer cotton fabric covering it.

...its really great...

edit: they only come in briefs from what i know...smile.gif

When I use pads, I usually wear tight underwear or tight shorts. Because when I wear somewhat loose undies, the pad wont stay close to my crotch. It moves around, leaving a little space in between, and the blood seep through my butt crack and leaving big stain on the back part of my undies.
